How much tv are you watching?

I used to be a person that hardly ever watched tv. Since baby and maternity leave I'm in an almost continuous Netflix marathon. I would say I probably watch around 3 to 5 hours a day. I'm feeling guilty and fearing that I'm turning into a horrible couch potato zombie. I still play with baby, run errands and do house work. it'so easy to just turn my sleep deprived brain off and watch tv while lo and I cuddle. Am I the only person guilty of this?

  • I'm watching copious amounts of Hulu. No shame.

    I love HGTV too!!

  • This makes me feel so much better

  • HGTV and Food Network saved me during my first two maternity leaves. I would nurse and watch pretty much all day. This time, I have all three kids home with me so I keep it off unless the boys are napping and DD is nursing...then I usually watch something on Netflix.

  • Keeping Up with the Kardashians is my new guilty pleasure. I'm ashamed, but it's like train wreck, you can not help but watch!!!
  • I'm watching a ton of garbage tv and talk shows...no shame...it's part of being an exhausted zombie

  • I'd be watching more if it was just the NB, but I've been yelling @ ds1 about how much he's watching and I can't stand hypocrites;) This happene the first time around, what else can you do...there is only so much 100% attention you can give a NB before it's a bit boring.

  • I had to start leaving the TV off 2 weeks ago because I was going crazy with the mindless stuff that I was watching. I watched so much HGTV that I was just watching reruns if everything. When DH is home it gets turned on, but I try to keep it off when it's just me during the day.

  • Funny related story-- we don't have cable, so actually watching it is a real treat. When we got to the birthing inn after my water broke, the first thing we did when we got to our delivery room was turn on HGTV. It was on from 10 am to midnight (when she was born), and back on in our recovery room from the moment we entered to the moment we left a day later. I have no idea how a single House Hunters episode ended, but it sure was fun to have that on in the background!

  • Yep. So much Netflix. DD has times when she will only sleep if she's being held, so bring on the tv.

We also happen to live with my parents right now and i have serious issues with my mom and my siblings that have made it so i don't want to leave my room.

  • Nonstop here. There's a Doctor Who marathon, so that's today's excuse, but I watch netflix during MOTN feedings to stay awake too. I feel no shame!!

  • Netflix and Amazon prime for 11 weeks here... I've started a lot of shows, and ended a few.  Ridiculous.

  • I feel terrible about it, but DS1 managed to watch all 50+ episodes of Busy Town since we've brought DS2 home. I finally started switching over to music on Pandora so we have some peaceful background noise without cartoons.

  • Food network, Netflix, and now I'm re watching the Harry Potter series. If I'm stuck nursing every 1-2 hours I need to do something else to keep a little of what sanity I have left! ;;)
  • I marathon watched Friday Night Lights while pregnant but haven't been able to sit down and watch a single show since he's been born. I suppose I could the days he naps in my arms all day but that's what Instagram and bump is for ;) . We've been trying to watch SYTYCD at night but no luck the last few nights. I kinda miss it! But only a little. Probably comes with the territory of having two older teen DSs that need to run around a lot as in hop in the car to be somewhere.
  • DS1 didn't used to get any screen time. Now I find myself humming the Thomas and Friends theme in the shower. Oy.

  • DD watches cartoons all day, this makes me sad. I try to get out and walk, it's hard with a toddler and newborn. I try to do something with her everyday so she isn't just watching tv but when we are home it's on Disney jr

  • My tv is constantly on... I would fall asleep if I didn't have it on. It helps me stay awake, that's for sure. I'm pretty much a movie addict as well.

  • Way too much..it is always on whether I am watching or not. I know what time it is by what is on. Shameful. Oh well.
  • TV all the time! Especially obsessed with chopped on food network, anything On Demand, kardashians, people's court, animal planet and court

This! Dd would rarely watch tv (not never, but not often) but now Disney Jr is on all the time. She is now obsessed with Mickey Mouse club house and I always have the Jake and the neverland pirates song in my head. I know life with 2u2 will get easier and we will get back to our regular lives, but for now I'm doing what I can to survive.

  • I rarely watched tv before LO came along. We even ditched paying for cable since we didn't use it. Now I have learned that Family Feud is hosted by Steve Harvey and that Netflix is a lifesaver, lol.

  • I've watched so much Parks & Rec that the only dream I remember from the last four weeks took place in an episode.

  • I feel so much better knowing that mine isn't the only kid glued to the tv right now!
  • I just finished all of Desperate Housewives and now I'm onto Grey's Anatomy. I have it on allll day as background noise.

currently on season 5 of Greys anatomy. Started with season 1.
  • I always have my TV on, but it's just background noise to me. For some reason it is soothing to me, maybe because it makes the constant noise so my head can stop.

  • Working my way through Orange Is The New Black and Breaking Bad. Thank God for Netflix.

  • Yup. It's on all day. I'm having some PPD issues and leaving the house doesn't happen. I turn off the tv and make DD go play with get toys or outside. 3-4 days a week she goes to her grandparents and great grandparents house. Her great grandparents have a huge garden so she goes over and spends the day digging in the dirt, helping water the veggies, picking fruit, etc.

If it wasn't for my in laws she would probably never go outside. I feel terrible. Hopefully things look up soon and I'll feel comfortable leaving the house without DH.
  • Yep, Netflix is seriously amazing. Over the last two months I've made my way through Mad Men, Orange is the New Black, and Call the Midwife. I felt a little bad watching OITNB with the baby because it's so inappropriate for children, even though I know it's not registering in her brain. I hope.

Haha @stellabella1122‌ I feel bad watching true blood with lo! I've even found myself covering his eyes even though he can't focus on the tv yet!
