Tuesday randoms

Didn't see this post yet so here goes.

My random is that I threw up while waiting in line for the train today. Luckily there was not much in my stomach, but it was really embarrassing. I just told the people around me it was morning sickness, but they were still grossed out.

Pregnant lady problems.

Haha aww... that is no fun.

My toddler learned the word "no" this weekend. Nothing is acceptable to her anymore. Whatever I do, she looks at me and says "Mama, no" with these super serious eyes. It cracks me up and drives me crazy

Also, she is totally into jewelry, and by jewelry I mean anything that can fit on her wrist. Rubber bands. Milk carton pull-tabs. Onto the wrist. And then she holds her arm out to model the piece and says "Oh, my my..." 13 months, going on 15...

I think people arent sympathedic unless they experience it themselves.

My husband is an asshole that I told off yesterday.

Im alsi considering getting a hair cut today. I never do anything with my hair other than put it in a piny tail. I think its time to go short.

My random is that yesterday I got called out by a stranger! DH and I were at a cooking class and the lady next to me looked at my belly (which was mostly covered by an apron) and said "are you expecting?" I am only 14 weeks as of today and I don't even notice a big change in my body, I can only feel the differences. I couldn't believe that she asked. She was an older lady, but not old enough to make you think "oh that old lady has lost her filter". I just felt a little awkward after that.

I dreamed last night that people would be super pissed that I made a post asking for sex reveal photo ideas. The responses I got were unbelievable, so it was nice to wake to nice responses

Also, coffee smells like dog poop to me when I'm asleep apparently. I let the oldest dog sleep in the bedroom with us last night (because she'll stay on the floor) and when I woke up to the coffee brewing smell, I thought she'd had diarrhea everywhere. When I'm drinking coffee, I love how it smells, but since I'm not, it smells HORRID.

My Random: I wish I had a headset for my phone at work. I have a phone/online training session and my neck hurts already from holding the phone. Lame, I know, but that's what I got!

I was called for jury duty the last week of October. I'm on standby. So each day I have to check to see if my number is called. I would rather have a set date to show up. As a teacher, this really is a pain because I will need to come up with a lesson for each day just in case.

I was looking online at maternity pants as I could be getting close to needing them and I can't find any store with long enough pants. Whaaa. I may be spending this winter in high waters or letting out a lot of hems. The longest I found is 34 I need a 35 to wear with flats.

@kkleigh10, I've heard of that before. I think it's overkill to appease the travelers around you. Life is life, babies are going to cry. No need to bribe your surrounding seatmates. And yeah, the minute-by-minute travelogue is a bit much. In the end, no one really cares except Mom.

I am 5'5" and tried on maternity jeans at Old Navy and they were AT LEAST 4 inches too long for me. Have you check there?

Well, so I am having a horrible day! I told my immediate supervisor that I am expecting and will be resigning soon. It didn't go well (like I had expected). She is so insensitive (herself being a mom of 2). She did not even say a simple word like "congrats". I have been workig with her for last 2 yrs and not that we have had bad relationships. I knew it won't go well but I did expect a little courtesy. I am so upset. Am I being very sensitive? Maybe but I really have worked hard for her and I expect a little courtesy in return. I am feeling so overwhelmed that I could cry. My colleagues took it well and tried to cheer me up but didn't work.

@kkleigh10 I let out an eye roll at those too. I don't mind so much when it's just a creamy baby bag that has ear plus, a small candy and a note but I would agree that the picture is a little much. I think it's more that I expect the possibility of a crying baby on planes and am naturally understanding so (while I know this isn't how it works) I think other rational adults should be understanding too.

Random: DH gave me my anniversary present early this year. It was a signed copy of George Takei's book. I was so excited u cried. My stupid hormones made me cry every time I touched the book but it wasn't because of how awesome of a gift it is but because I know how much thought and effort he put into it.

there long is definitely too short on me :-/ which is odd as Gap (non maternity) has some long enough but I guess they don't think really tall people get pregnant because their maternity pants only go to 34 in inseam.

Im pretty sure gap long and lean maternity have a 35" inseam. Unsure about dress pants. I need a 34" usually and they are long enough for me.

I laid into him for being an inconsiderate asshole. I also laid intohim because what if something happened to me and he had no way of knowing.

When I was pregnant with DS2, I worked in an office and my coworker was super weird about the pregnancy. At 7 months, baby would kick and move all day while I was sitting at the desk and if my coworker happened to look over and notice he would look away as fast as he could and mention how much it "freaked him out" that there was something in there.
Ummm, it's a human and this is how we all got here. Stop being rude.

Gotta love when they learn the word no. DS answers no to most things right now. At night it's "I don't want to wear my jammies." I don't want a clean diaper." Then in the mornings we get "I don't want to take my jammy shirt off." Fun times!

@jmcgra06 - "No no" is Adeline's favorite phrase. She walks around doing things she knows she isn't supposed to but she says "no no" when she's doing it. So...walking over to shove dog food in her mouth "no no no." It's actually really convenient because if I am in a different room I know she is getting into something!

@selly08 - Sorry! That's a really horrible way to act and you're not being overly sensitive.

@kkleigh10 - I hate the entire idea of "apology bags" on planes. Babies are humans and there is no need to apologize for their presence. As long as a parent is not downright neglecting their child or letting an older kid be a douche, I have never had a problem with kids on planes. We are bringing Adeline on a 4 hour plane ride in October and I DARE someone to say something to me if she starts fussing!

I started making sailor's knot headbands for Adeline a few months ago but she refuses to leave anything on her head. Just to test the waters I posted a picture of them on a local Facebook buying/selling group and I got 14 orders!! They're $10 a piece or 3/$25...it's going to be nice to have a little extra money!

I'm going to back to school night with my step son tonight. Still haven't bought maternity clothes but I'm starting to show. I'm dreading the stares I'll probably get from other moms who haven't seen me since school let out. Also, I'm dreading waking up at 6 AM to get stepson to school again all year. It's good because then I go to work and have a routine, but I still am tired all the time, so it's going to be really tough.

I hid in my office last night for a while, waiting for my coworkers to leave before I changed into my yoga outfit. But then I run smack into a coworker as I'm leaving. Luckily I had my yoga mat and CVS bag draped across my front because my pants and top are not forgiving.

Last night was my last class of intro yoga. When people asked what I was taking next, I got to answer prenatal yoga. Everyone was so sweet congratulating me. Felt good to say it out loud.

Ive finally had 3 days in a row of no nausea (knock on wood) at 15w6d and now I am starving. Ive already had oatmeal and a blueberry crisp bar this morning and want more food. The only thing I have left is my lunch..and its 9:30 am. Sad face.

@aggiebug‌ I'm 5'11" and wear a 36" inseam. I feel your pain. I found jeans long enough at A Pea in a Pod. They were pricey, but I got them on clearance. Check there!

I think I am going to make a bag for the next time I fly. It will have a picture of an arm rest. The one other passengers won't get to use because I hog it. It will apologize for my loud, obnoxious laughter during the movie that I pack for myself. It will also have a blow pop, because you can blow me if you have a problem. It'll also have an empty mini vodka that I already drank. Because I care about me.

@aggiebug unfortunately, I sit in a cubicle, so speakerphone isn't an option.

@kkleigh10 I think she went a bit overboard. The pic at least was too much.

I will say I have gotten aggravated ONE time with a child on a plane. It was an infant sitting directly behind me and we got stuck on the tarmac in ATL for an hour in July and the air in the back of the plane stopped working during this time. The flight attendants kept telling the parents to take the child to the front of the plane where the air was working, but they wouldn't so the baby screamed the whole time. Oh, and I have a migraine... Then, the child screamed for the whole 5 hour plane ride to CA. As we're landing, a flight attendant tells the couple to give their child a paci or something to suck on because babies don't know to make their ears pop. You tell them this NOW?!? Why didn't you tell them when we took off?!? Really, I was annoyed with the parents and flight attendant, not so much the baby, he couldn't help it. But that was the most miserable plane ride of my life!!

I just found out that for our big family vacation trip next year we are going to Disney World. I've never been, and I am just so stinking excited. The babies will be about 5 months so that might make things a little different, but all I did yesterday was research taking a baby to Disney and a lot of people do it.

*horror story warning**
We had a horrible experience when the child of someone in our neighbourhood died because she had tied a rubber band around her finger before falling asleep. The mother came in, found her toddler with a purple/blue fingertop, and promptly took the rubber band off. Unfortunately the de-oxygenated blood which had pooled in the little girl's finger then rushed to the heart, and she died shortly after from cardiac arrest. To this day the mother still doesn't know how her little girl managed to sneak a rubber band past her, but i've been terrified of them near children ever since!

Sorry, don't want to scare monger, but it's something I would NEVER have seen happening, so I thought I'd share the story.

I know no one commented on this story, but I have to. This is a scary story you are putting out there and you are very misinformed.

1. it is impossible for de-oxygenated blood to go directly to the heart. The vascular system takes de-oxygenated blood from your extremities (veins) and returns it via the venous system to the lungs to get oxygenated - and only then onto the heart to be pumped back to the rest of the body. it would not affect the heart in the way you described EVER. parading around this kind of scary misinformation is in very poor taste.

2. it is more likely that in this case, the rubberband cut off the circulation causing the cells who no longer had access to oxygen and nutrients to die - which releases a lot of necrotic factors and other negative things usually in the cells to the outside. This is the bad things. When the rubberband was removed, all the built up bad factors released from the dead cells is what flooded the rest of the body and *potentially* caused a cardiac arrest.

However, I am having a hard time believing that the amount of dead tissue accrued in the tip of one of a little baby's finger in the small amount of time the circulation was cut off generated enough necrotic factors to kill the child.

If you don't know the facts, which you obviously don't. Don't say anything.

I posted on Facebook yesterday that we were hoping to find out the sexes of the babies at our appointment tomorrow and wanted people's guesses/bets on what they are. I have a friend who said that she didn't care what sexes they are, but that she was THRILLED to see me not use the word GENDER. I was so excited!!!!

My Random - I woke up at 3am to something moving in my tummy it was baby and was so exciting, I asked my mom about it because it's pretty soon, but she said she felt me move at about 10 weeks so she was pretty sure me being 12/13 it was baby I felt. Because I was so excited I got up for my 7th middle of the night pee run and while I was in there, ran out of toliet paper. This random thought crossed my mind .."I've gone through a $hit ton of toilet paper since I've been preggers, I wonder if anyone else goes through a lot too" lol..
