Re: How much sleep are you really getting?

  • Ugh, our nights are getting worse! Besides 2 MOTN feedings, LO wakes early and 3 year old is wetting the bed. Not sure how I am surviving on such little sleep.

  • I voted 5-6 hours per night, but I'm really in the 4-5 hours camp. Although LO has given us 5 days of glorious 6+ hours of sleep, I have to pump in the MOTN and it takes me forever to wind down at night. I never really mastered the "sleep when he sleeps" thing…
  • Usually 5ish. I have a hard time sleeping even without a baby and a toddler.
  • We have started getting really decent first stretches from him, but I still need to learn to take better advantage. Some nights we have one wakeup and some nights two. I think I get about six hours on average.

  • I am getting way less sleep than LO because of my pubic bone pain. It only bothers me when I lay down so I am up many times during the night just to walk around and make it feel better. When does this stop, it is the worst.
  • I'm getting between 7-8 hours a night.
  • LO has been better, giving us 4-5 hours stretches (a few 7-8 hour stretches) but I constantly get up to check on her. I wish I could relax more and just sleep. She's a stomach sleeper though and while she can lift her head and move it from side to side, and also flip from belly to back, I am paranoid. Hoping my anxiety calms down over the next few weeks so I can fully enjoy her longer stretches.

  • I am normally in bed at 10 and LO hasn't figured out if he wants to drop a MOTN feed or not. Some nights we are up at 1, 4 and then not again until about 9. Most nights he is good until 4 and again until 8. Recently we have has a few where he is asleep until 7 then back down until 9.

  • I voted 3-4 but he's usually up every 2-3 hours.

  • DD has been sleeping great lately but I cannot seem to wind down and sleep.  I keep singing that lyric from Soul Asylum's song Runaway Train - "so tired that I couldn't even sleep".  Yeah, I'm delirious.

  • H sleeps about 6 hours straight, gets up then sleeps 2-3  more. That varies sometimes. DH and I typically go to bed about an hour or so after DS goes down, so I said I get about 6 hours total between the time slots.

  • I voted 6-7, but I could get more if I could figure out how to get to sleep just after he goes down.
He's asleep by 9/930, then I piddle around for 2hrs because that's my "me" time. Then when he gets up at 4/5am, it takes me forever to get back to sleep. So I get a 4-5hr stretch then 1-2hrs before he's up for the day.

  • The past week about 6-7 hours. He has a decent 5 hour stretch but by the time I get in bed I get 3.5-4 hrs then he sleeps about 3 hours.

  • I picked 6-7 hours but some nights it's probably more than that.  D goes to bed at 7:00-7:30 and always sleeps a solid 7-8 hour stretch.  I try to be in bed by 10:00, so I usually get at least 5 straight uninterrupted hours.  The second stretch is not as predictable though... sometimes he's up every 2 hours wanting to eat, sometimes he'll go back down until 7:00-8:00.

  • I voted for 6-7 based on the last two nights but usually i think i am around the 5-6 gang. I never thought i can survive with so little sleep and cluster sleeping.
  • Despite the girls being in bed by 9 most nights, I don't generally turn in until 12 or so. Since they're more alert during the day, I get most chores done after they're asleep. Then they wake up somewhere from 4-5 for a feeding; I've been having trouble getting back to sleep after that. So I'm doing well to get 6 hours a night. Momma evidently needs a house elf and sleeping pills to get a good night's sleep.
  • About 5 broken hours thanks to having to get up midway to pump.

  • LO sleeps from 1:00 to 7:00 am and so do I. But I voted 5-6 because I'm tired.

I average out about 6hrs of sleep a night. Even though sometimes it feels like 2.

  • My sleep has been wonderful since my nanny came to help at 2 weeks!!! she is such a lifesaver, letting me get my much needed rest! i usually sleep around 10 hours a night......i wish you ladys had the same opportunitie. every mum needs her rest!!!
  • Pretty pumped because LO has slept 8 hours in a row the past two nights. We put her down at about 1030 then get ready for bed ourselves. Last night i was up for two hours with the dog who is scared of storms. Yeesh.
  • I voted 6-7. We put LO down at 9, but I usually go to bed closer to 10/1030. I'll sleep from then until about 1:30-2, when DH gets up for his shift. I'm usually awake during that MOTN wakeup even though I get to stay in bed, because I can still hear LO screaming on the monitor/across the hall. Then I usually get another 3hour stretch before she's up again at 5-530.

  • I think I get about 4 hours of downtime before she wakes up, and then maybe 3 hours after putting her back down. Sleep, though? I am still pretty anxious about her being in her own crib or if I should move her to our room to her bassinet. I sleep only when my mind gives up.

Being with my LO rocks! DD born 6/13/14.

  • I voted for 5-6 hours but I get more if we don't have anything to get to in the AM and I can sleep during LO last sleep/ first nap. I do hate that I miss a good chunk of the long sleep of the night as it starts before I'm ready for bed!
  • I voted 6-7 but we got nearly 10 hours last night. It was amazing

  • It sounds like a decent amount when you add it up but when it is broken into three shifts it certainly feels no where near like if it came all at once.
