I just throw it on the bathroom counter. Anywhere is fine, duh.

Re: *** NCDR: Toothbrush Poll ***

  • enclosed holders are supposed to create a better environment for germs.

supposedly the best place to keep it germ-wise is anywhere other than the bathroom, like the kitchen cabinet.

mine is in an open holder.

  • Electric, but I set it on the counter wherever there's space. Because for some strange reason, British bathrooms don't have electrical outlets. And I'm too lazy to walk my toothbrush 10 steps to my BR where the charger is plugged in.

Electric on charger on the counter

    This.

  • Ours are kept on shelves in the medicine cabinet. That is pretty much our only option. The bathroom is ridiculously small with a horrible layout.

  • Have an electric. The handle sits on charger on the counter. The brushes go in an enclosed holder that attaches to the charger - it has a UV light that you can run to kill the germs then keep in enclosed.

Maybe this is what I need @Brandiewine11.  What brand is it?  Do you like it?

  • I have both, a travel toothbrush is in an open container on the counter and an electric, in the holder (which is open in the back).

  • Are medicine cabinets a northern thing? I don't think I've ever seen one IRL.

    I think it's a 60's and 70's thing.  My Grandmother had them.

I don't think they really make them anymore, because most of the mirrors now are huge.

I have a Philips Sonicare. Can't remember which model it is, but it also has a UV light compartment for the brush.

  • I have a Sonicare (diamond clean). I used to have the older model with the UV light compartment in the charging station. I loved it. Until it broke. I replaced it with the Diamond Clean but my sister (dental hygienist) said I was stupid and should have sent the broken one in to Philips to be fixed. Anyway, the Diamond Clean model doesn't have the UV sanitizer, and I miss it. But I absolutely love my Sonicare and I think they're worth the money. I'd never be without it now. P loves it too. I put it on 'sensitive' mode and brush her teeth for just a few seconds. She gets grumpy when teeth-brushing time is over.

I think I have the Flexcare or Flexcare+. Yes, I like it. It's my first electric toothbrush so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I think it will last a good long while, and I don't really like using a manual toothbrush anymore. Took a couple of days to get used to the vibrating toothbrush. It came with a nice travel case and a travel charger so that's not an issue either. It's compatible with most of the Sonicare brush tips. Also, a battery charge lasts for weeks, so it really doesn't need to live on the charger anyway. It probably has more features than I need, but I really wanted the UV disinfector.

I'm in Canada. My house growing up didn't have one. The house we live in now was built in the 50s if I'm remembering right and when we moved in it was so dated. I don't mind having the medicine cabinet but I could live without it.

Yes, I like it a lot. It's a sonicare flex care. We have had it for about 4 years. I even have a 2nd one (without the UV thing) that I use for travel. I used to travel a ton for work and missed my sonicare when on the road....

  • I voted open container. It is in a cup in the medicine cabinet, though.
