Stay at Home Moms

Advice needed: enter here

Ladies! Hello!

I need some advice: so I have a choice to make coming up...I'm going back to finish my BS degree. I'm going back full time, and my mom offered to move me and the kiddos in with her so she could help.

Pros: I love my mom. We lived together fine two years ago when I was on bed rest. I could help out with her honey-do list since my dad died. I wouldn't need to work full time or worry about finances so much. She would help with child care for the younger two when my oldest is in kindy. And, I could finish faster...

Cons: I'd be giving up my single freedom. I love having my own place, and I'm proud of the fact that I'm making it on my own. I'd have to be a landlord again, as I would rent this place out.

Halp.

  • I would move back in with your parents in a heartbeat.
  • Loading the player...
  • Nursing, with an emphasis on public health. :)
I'm so close! I have about a year and a half of the core program left if I can swing going full time.
  • I would feel weird living at home again, like I failed at being a grown-up....but if I don't do it I'm looking at working nights, school in the afternoons, and being a mom somewhere in there. I don't think I can do it on my own and be sane.
  • I would absolutely move in with your mom if you can finish your degree faster. It will make your life sooo much easier in the long run. Provided you have a good relationship with your mom, go for it!

Speaking as someone who barely survived working nights with one kid and is currently frightened of doing it with two, I'd die if I added school.

I've done it before...which is why I am considering giving up my fabulous single life to live with my mommy. :::twirls around nekkid:::

I just want the kids to feel stable and secure, and not like we will be uprooting every six months or so.
  • @MrsMuq‌ ...you're totally right. I was a lab tech working 12 hour shifts and going to school before I stayed at home for a year. I just can't do that as a single parent. If my mom is willing to help, I should/have to take it.
