I Found Out The Gender Of My Baby On My 20th Week. The Lady Said To Her It Looks Like A Girl! She Said There Never 100% Tho! So What's The Chances Of Her Being Wrong! And It Being A Boy?!
There's always a chance they could be wrong, but at 20 weeks it should be pretty accurate. At 19 weeks our tech told us she was 98% sure of the sex of our baby. So that's what we're going by.
Congrats on a healthy baby!! We found out the sex at 16 weeks and had it confirmed by a different dr at our 20 week ultrasound. I suppose there's always a chance they are all wrong but not likely. This is the super nitpicky grammar nerd/teacher in me, but capital letters are only necessary for proper nouns and the first letter of each sentence, not every word. Sorry- pet peeve.
I don't know the statistics, but yes, there is always a chance they could be wrong about the sex. I don't think it's particularly common, but it's not unheard of either.

They can be wrong. However, I've had 2 ultrasounds since 20 weeks and both were very obvious boy parts so I'm not worried. As the nurse told me, those things don't usually fall off.

If you are concerned about the accuracy of your baby's SEX maybe you get one of the blood work screening since they have higher accuracy (Assuming they can still be done).
SEX! You want to know the sex of your baby. Those two words are not interchangeable and are very commonly miss used. If you feel your ultrasound tech is wrong in any kind of way you could also get a second opinion and get a regular ultrasound. I know they aren't too expensive and run between $25-$75. I must say though ultrasound techs are very experienced and if they undoubtedly said girl then the chance are you are most likely having a girl.

My former English teacher/publishing employee self cried a little.
------------- Guise...guise...She is probably doing speach to text on her mobile. Besides it is an Internet forum so formalities like that aren't important. ..it is more important that we can tell her that the baby's SEX could be wrong. ..surprised there was no US picture to go with it.

Looks like you're new, so welcome and congrats! Just an FYI, the term sex (what genitals the baby has) and gender (how your child will identify) aren't interchangeable, so around here we talk about the sex of our babies.
How far along were you when you found out your baby's sex?
She told us in the original post she found out in her 20th week! OP, there's always a chance they could be wrong. However at this point in your pregnancy, as trained professionals, they should have a pretty good idea on whether you've got a little boy or girl. I think it's safe to say you can go buy a pink dress. Is there a reason you are worried about the answer? If you are really worried about their answer, go to another tech and ask to find out the sex for an additional cost. Just please save yourself and do not upload any pictures asking us to figure it out for you! Congrats on your little one!
My fiancé was said to be a girl... I'm pretty sure the tech was wrong... Haha just had to throw that out there. It's made my boat a little shakey trying to take my techs word in the sex department.
Ultrasounds are not 100%. But the tech probably knows what he/she is doing. Why do you feel the need to capitalize every word? Not trying to be a dick; just asking a question. Congrats on the baby!
I've never doubted the scans when it comes to baby's sex. They either resembled a hamburger (girl) or turtle (boy). This time we received sex results with the fetal DNA testing, and then it was confirmed with the following three ultrasounds, the last being done by the perinatologist.
I also just knew I was having another girl.

I had a friend recently who thought they were having a boy (3 ultrasounds said boy) well turned out to be a girl! were they ever surprised, my friend actually asked if the doctor was sure there wasn't another one in there.
I'm 31 and DH is 36

Re: How Likely Is It That They Could Be Wrong About The Gender?
Edit: I just realized you asked gender. If you are lucky they will tell you around 6 or 7 years old.
