Do any of you ever get "floaters" in your vision? Little white/black specs floating around. I've had them a couple times. They don't last long. I've heard of others having them but don't know why. Does anyone know what they're from?
I get them all the time too. I've read its natural deteriation of the eye but I'm not a doctor and hope it's nothing serious. Usually it's black but I've had some bright white ones too but I think it's because I stand up too fast.
There are lots of reasons for having them and I believe can be common in pregnancy but I would bring it up to your doctor as it could be a sign of fluid retention or the beginnings of pre e I believe (obviously I am no doctor). My sister had pre e and that was one of her symptoms.
My BP has been normal throughout (don't have the numbers in front of me) and there's been no mention of pre-e at all. I'll mention them at my next appointment. Thanks all!
I have them constantly, and a lot of them. I have had multiple vision checks because of it, but everything is fine. My BP Is fine too. Sorry you are dealing with them!
My psychology professor in college once said they are leftover junk from eye formation in the uterus. It's been a good 10+ yrs so that's abt all the details I can recall. :-)
I have been having these as well and mentioned it to my doctor at my appt yesterday. She said it's completely normal and due to the amount of blood flow that is being directed towards the baby. Apparently eyes typically consume around 20% of the oxygen in your body so the change in blood flow can cause the floaters
