Finally Friday Spam!

So I had my NT scan and they wouldn't tell me anything at all. They wouldn't tell me how big it measures, or how many weeks or if everythings ok. They said I have to wait a week to get those results along with my blood test results because apparently they will only give you them at the same time. Even though the damn doctor looked at the results right after they were done.

This hasn't helped me to feel better at all. I asked the tech her opinion she said everything looks normal to her but that she can't really say because it has to come from the doctor. Which I already knew but damnit this hasn't helped me to feel better.

We pretty much do it ourselves but have had great service from Vanguard. We have some indexed stock and bond funds with them and our IRAs. Low fees for real.

My midwife office has a policy of only calling if there is an issue. So hopefully everything is just fine!

My neighbour has a mamaroo and I was hoping to borrow it from her for baby #2. But then I found out she is also expecting around the same time. Since I'm too cheap to but my own I guess I'll also need to start a fund on here!

Spam: I woke up at 4:30 this morning with gastric distress so bad that I was puking and crying. It was awful and continued until almost 10 this morning. I called the OB and got a recommendation for tums ir mylanta to help from now on but I'm still afraid to eat because I don't know what set it off.

Good news though! LO is starting to get on a movement schedule so I feel flips/rolling/pressure regularly now. No more worrying about how s/he is doing in there. So today started out rough but I'm on cloud 9 now that LO is more active.

We just found out my FIL has bells palsy - well I think they ruled out a stroke - which we found out via his sis - as we still haven't talked to his mom or dad. (slightly weird that they don't call to tell us this kinda news, but whatever. My family also has the bad habit of sending news late and after it is over - i.e. I found out about my grandfathers stroke via email like 4 days after it happened and it was a this is what happened here he is now statement email.) This was my conversation about the news with H:

H: My dad is so old he will probably die soon

Me: :-O, my grandma is still alive and she is like 10 years older than your dad. He is not going to die soon.

H: no, they are like the same age. he was 40s when I was born.

Me: that makes him mid-70s not 80s, you are only 31...

H: oh, well black men die sooner anyway - so he will probably die soon.

Me: ....

In most cases the tech isnt allowed to tell anything. sorry you are stressed. Hopefully your dr will call you with results beginning of the week. I had to specifically ask DR to get the actual measurement.

Suuuper impressed with Amazon Kindle. A couple nights ago mine cracked under the screen (paperwhite) I don't know how it happened so I called them and they sent me a brand new one, I got it in two days and mailed back my old one with their packing slip. I still had about 2 months left on my warranty but I have never had anything warrantied so easy!

Well, I'm a stupidly emotional mess. I failed my driving test today because I hit the fucking cone coming out of the parallel parking spot. Seriously?!? I have not hit any cones in any lessons and everything was going just swimmingly and then that. I guess I didn't cut the wheel hard enough or was up too high in the spot or got overconfident. But now I get to wait 2 weeks until I test again and can't even start any car buying processes, so I'm now looking at least 6 weeks until I can get off the scooter that I was supposed to be off of 3 weeks ago.

I'm basically pissed at myself because it's a stupid rookie error that I shouldn't have made. Also, it rained on me on my ride home and just solidified everything about the whole getting a car experience up to this point for me.

Random: at my 12 week u/s the other day the tech said it was too early to tell boy or girl and she wouldn't make any guesses, but at one point as she was commenting on the baby's movements she dropped a gender pronoun like "look at him moving around." Should I read into this or no???? Pronoun theory vs Ramzi theory?!

She might have just used the pronoun to avoid calling your baby "it". I've heard that several techs just say "he" or "she" because someone might be offended if they say "it".
If she said it was too early to guess, she probably doesn't know.

She is right.

The only reason I got news on my u/s portion same day was because I had my 12 week with my doctor RIGHT after it and the genetics office faxed the u/s info over. The doctor then explained why those were good.

It sucks but I think it's normal procedure.

I know the tech can't really tell me. But I'm so irritated because the doctor was literally in the next room looking at the ultrasounds on his computer and sending the nurse back and fourth between the room I was in and he was in to ask me random questions. She had to go back and fourth about 3 times to ask me how I delievered previously and how many pregnancies I've had. I don't get why if he was looking right at them he couldn't pop his head in and give me a quick ok.

My tech kept saying he but I think thats because DH and mother in law where. I was calling the baby it.

MIL kept asking the tech the whole time is it a boy I think its a boy is it a boy? I told her before the tech could respond theres no way to tell we're only getting profile shots of the baby and that it would have to be spread eagle to get a guess and that would be at 20 weeks.

She then continued how she thinks she "saw something" that makes it a boy. DH then told her woman you can't see its junk you don't know what it is yet.

I'm sure the tech got a kick out of my entourage today.

I can't get my 2 year old to eat chicken and rice but he can't get enough raw carrots and veggie dip? I'm not going to complain about this no matter how confusing it is.

Oh I know, right? My 2 yo thinks that pb&j is poison, but give that kid some green beans and he is thrilled. My 4 yo used to eat salad all the time until people kept commenting on it.

As I'm at the register waiting for the guy to ring me up I swear he starts flirting with me. Really? I'm buying and intelligender test dude what exactly do you think that means?

Words can't describe my mother. Apparently she ran into my stepsister at a gas station today. My mom brought me up and how she can't believe I left WV and that she doesn't believe my ex was beating me. Even though my stepsister lived in the same house and told her he was my mom still insisted it wasn't true.

Yeah mom I make up abuse just hurt you.
