I had much more of a reaction to the car seat deaths than that article. I couldn't stop thinking about the car set deaths. I think because I can actually imagine N in a car seat situation but can't in the other. Even though I know those kids are just as valuable as N, and it make me sad, but I just don't have the visceral connection. Or maybe because in the article I posted I was already focused on the topic and skimmed through the graphic portions quickly and just kinda didn't let myself dwell on them.
I also am impacted a lot more by pictures. The whole Iraq situation got me because I saw a picture of an innocent kid and the look on their face in that situation - I've seen that look on Ns face of fear of the unknown but I thank God it's only related to mundane things like a vacuum. The kid in Iraq didn't understand and was scared - but rightfully so. Agh, I think I will always have that picture in my mind.
Re: Unpopular Opinions
I think it's so dumb to have face book pages set up for your kid. Dumb.
No, I don't want to be friends with your 18 month old, get real!
What is the point?
(inspired by a friend request I just got. )
