  • I am horrible with QOTD-

My RE said to rest as needed but they encourage going about your day as usual.

I am watching "Masters of Sex" on Showtime. Very good but FYI it is pretty heavy into IF discussions

  • @LilyHarper‌ I'm on the "micro flare protocol" 10 units of Lupron in the AM and PM and then 450 of Gonal F in the PM. Supposedly women with my condition (low AMH and DOR) do well on this. I asked about changing my meds and they said I'm pretty much on the highest dose they can give me. I hope my numbers keep doubling!

  • @gsancho‌ oh the embryologist told him! He is so impressed with himself. He has been growing a beard since I started treatment (I just say whatever makes you happy, dude!) and he says his beard is the reason for the very active sperm. He thinks he is very manly and rugged. Though I think the business clothes with a lumberjack beard looks a little funny. Whatever works!

  • @Frenchteachermama‌ I just did that protocol for the second time. I do best on it. Fyi, I take 600iu of gonalf plus 50iu low dose hcg to stim. This last cycle I stimmed for 18 days. That dosage amount was from 3 different REs at 3 different clinics so it's possible to go higher! I would ask if you need to. Good luck!

  • @alpCRNA‌ Sorry to hear that this cycle was a BFN! Take care and good luck with whatever may be next for you.

@CRMhoney‌ Much luck with your FET, soon to be Sweet Pea!

@gsancho‌ I'm a huge wimp for complaining about having to wear one patch at a time.

The PUPO list is crazy long. FX for all!

AFM: 3dp5dt and not much to report. We only have one frostie, the other three stopped developing. Wondering if one was even worth freezing, as I have read that some embies don't survive thaw??

QOTD: I was required to rest transfer day and the following day. HBO On Demand was a good buddy of mine those days. SATC re-runs, Girls, and the current season of Trueblood kept me occupied.
  • I'm sorry about the BFN @alpCRNA‌ :(

@CRMhoney‌ I'm so sorry for your loss. ((Hugs))

@Buttmonkey34‌ Sorry you didn't end up with any frosties. I hope the one they transferred is in for the long haul.

  • Hey Ladies! Good luck to those with betas coming up and big hugs to those who need them.

I am on cycle day 11. I have 12 follicles, 4 on the right and 8 on the left (talk about lopsided!). This is a better outcome so far compared to our first two IVFs! Sooo hoping for at least three eggs at retrieval! Doc is thinking Tues ER so we'll see.

QOTD - we're doing a freeze all this cycle but when it comes to transfer in a month or two, lots of tv time!

  • Yesterday's beta was BFFN. I got most of the ugly crying out of the way before DH got home. Now I teeter from empty apathy to all out rage when I think of how much time and money and pain I invested in this one hope. I've lived almost every second of the last 8 months for that one chance. I don't know what we'll be doing now, if we can afford to do anything at all.
Goodluck to everyone who still has a chance, I'll keep my FX for you.

@Cindal I feel your pain and am so sorry this did not end out the way you wanted it to.

Good luck to the rest of the Tropical Ovaries.  I will be thinking about you.

  • Hi all... sorry for the late update. I had to travel for my IVF and it was a long (too) visit with my parents. I had my retrieval last Saturday (8/9) and it was a bit of a downer, only 2 eggs retrieved. I was pretty much counting on no transfer, but surprisingly I got a call on Monday saying that both eggs fertilized and were doing well. So, on Tuesday I had a 3dt with a 12 and a 7 cell embryo (I've read mixed reviews on whether a 12 cell is too growing too fast - but I guess anything from an 8 to a 12 is good for a 3 day). So, technically I am PUPO. We'll see no symptoms of course, but I do feel kind of nauseous off and on this morning (too many drugs in my system I think). My RE said no restrictions other than taking it east day of transfer and no high impact activity. Really? nothing about lifting and intercourse was ok after 3 days - he didn't even have me wait after the transfer; they told me to pee right afterwards and I could leave. It was only about 10 minutes all said and done. Hmmmm. Completely opposite of what all my past RE's said and did after transfer.
QOTD: I just took it easy the rest of the day and stayed at home... ate, drank a lot of water, read, and relaxed.

  • Oops, sorry and you too @CML11. Thinking of you. Wine does help.
  • I had BW/US this morning, which in itself was a fiasco! I had to drive 45 min for my 8:00 appt, to find out the appt was never entered and was considered walk in.I had to sit and wait until everyone else who had an appt was seen- 10:15 ish. All this with no food or coffee!
My nurse called at 2:30 and I missed the call- she did leave me a message. I have to go back tomorrow for more BW/US because my estrogen jumped from 181 to 587. I have to lower my gonal-f to 187 from 225, keep the menopur at 75.
They measured 5 follicles. Between 10-13 mom.

  • Hi everyone. I've been totally MIA because I've just been overwhelmed with everything but I wanted to give an update and support everyone else.

FX for all PUPO! Hugs yo all struggling and really, just hugs to everyone because this whole process is so emotionally draining.

AFM, I had retrieval on Thursday and they got 33 eggs. On Friday 21 had fertilized normally. Then I got my call yesterday and a 22 had fertilized. All were growing normally except one that hadn't split yet but the embryologist thought that was the one that was late to fertilize and it still had time.

Transfer is tentatively set for this morning but they are going to call and let me know if we are going to push it to tuesday so we can watch them grow and get the best one or two.

Right now I'm just on a salt and Gatorade diet and watching for any possible sign of OHSS, I have been pretty bloated and uncomfortable at night.

Me: 30 PCOS DH: 28 Very good numbers and quality

No protection and on Metformin since August 2012

    IUI# 1: Feb 2014 Clomid, Progestrone BFN

IUI #2: March 2014 Clomid, Progesterone BFN

    IUI #3: May 2014 Clomid, Follistim, HCG - 5/21 BFP, Beta #1 20, Beta #2 68 (?), Beta #3 52, ectopic Finally down to zero on 6/5.

IVF#1: 6/5 Consult, waited for insurance pre approval, 6/28 started provera

  • @ashleyS131~ I'm kind of in the same situation as you. I had my egg retrieval on Thursday and got 26 eggs, 13 of them being mature, 12 that fertilized. I'm waiting for them to call me any minute to tell me if it will be today or Tuesday. I had a badddd day yesterday. I could have sworn I was getting OHSS. I was wicked bloated, couldn't breath well, and had stomach pain. I called the doctor on duty and he thought it was due to constipation. I hope he's right. Today I'm feeling better but am still super nervous. How have you been feeling? I try to drink about 3-24 oz. bottles of Gatorade and 2 cans of coconut water a day. I hope it helps me.

Hugs to everyone who's been getting BFN's. I'm waiting to hear what we're transferring today! My RE called 2 days ago, said all 9 were still growing, with a 4 cell, 2 6 cells and 6 8 cells. I asked him if we would have any to freeze and he said definitely. Assuming the quality is the same as it was Friday, he wants us to do an eSet which scares the crap out of me, but the plan is to listen to him. As an aside, I'm so happy my siggy finally works! I couldn't get the images to work with my iPad, and finally fixed it on a laptop. Eta: still on the iPad and it squished everything together...I swear I know where breaks and paragraphs belong, but my iPad doesn't...
    Yup.
  • Oh, and for OHSS, when I had it, I found beef jerky to be a good option. High protein/salt, and a good option when you can no longer stand protein bars/protein powder. The powder from trader joes wasn't too bad in milk. My RE (at the time...) said to stay away from water, but to make sure I exclusively had gatorade, and at least 1 cup of milk a day. But I also had a hemorrhagic cyst at the same time, so not sure what advice was for what...my sympathies though. No fun. Also, @Frenchteachermama‌ yay for rising e2's!
    Yup.
