My big return to work

Tonight was my big return to work date. I was to work 7-11pm to ease into it. Well I was flexed off (called off) because we didn't have enough patients for me to come in. Yay for 1 more day of ML! I was glad to slowly ease into it but now I work all weekend 12 hour shifts. I just can't wait to get the first day over with. Please tell me it isn't as bad as I think it will be...

    I really didn't think my first day back was so bad! I was dreading it, but it was okay. My co-workers were all super sweet (they even had a pot luck lunch and gifts for me) and my assignment was easy - I'm a nurse in a family practice clinic. Hopefully you get good patients on your first day back! My husband was home with the baby and I had him send me lots of pictures of him and keep me updated. I missed DS, but just being back at work and getting back into the swing of things kept me from getting teary-eyed. Good luck :-)

    I didn't have as hard of a time as I thought I would either. I transferred to a new office so all new people which kept me busy introducing myself, taking care of paperwork etc. It's hard but I'm finding it harder now that my pace has slowed down than at first.

    Not as bad as I thought either...I was tearful driving in and sad in the morning but getting pics & updates from my husband helped.

    I start Monday and I've already talked to my boss and know I have 3 domestic violence cases and one child rape case my first week back. Ugh. I really just wanted a day to read all my emails and figure out pumping at work. End rant.

    @haylo33 - I hope it's an easy transition for you!

    12 hr shifts (which, at least for me, really mean closer to 14hrs away from LO), are hard, but I'm still finding having more days off with her makes it worth it. I cried my first day back, but got into a routine, and it was much better. I hope your return to work goes well! Hugs.

    1st BFP-8/17/12!  Missed Miscarriage discovered @ 8 week US.  D&C.
    2nd BFP-2/13/13!  Blighted Ovum discovered @ 8 week US. Natural miscarriage.
    3rd BFP-5/22/13!  By early June, progesterone plummeting.  Another loss.
    August 2013 - started Donor Egg process, but surprise BFP with my own eggs.
