Intro from a TTCAL Grad (& first freakout already) UPDATE Beta #2

Update: Beta #2 is 102, so we doubled!  Next beta is scheduled in one week, and U/S on 9/2.  Thank you so much for all the positive thoughts and stories!

Hi, PgAL Friends!  Sooo, after a long weekend away at the beach, I came home and POAS and got the faintest of squinters.  Since then, I've been doing a bit of this:

I went yesterday (14DPO) for my scheduled betas, and I got the call yesterday afternoon that my hCG was 48...they said this is a "good starting number" and I know that it's the next number that matters, but I can't help googling like a crazy person and feeling like this number is so low.

So I finally decided to intro and ask you guys to hold me as tightly as possible.  Of course, any happy stories about a low first number would be welcome!

Just a little bit about me: I've been hanging out on TTCAL since March 2013 when I had a MMC at 9 weeks (found at 10 weeks).  I've been working with an RE since January of this year, and we did a couple of Clomid/IUI cycles (one of which resulted in a CP), a couple of natural/IUI cycles, and this was our second Femara/IUI cycle.  DH and I have one adorable furbaby named Fray.

To my TTCAL friends, I honestly don't know how I would have made it through the past 17 months without you.  I have made so many friendships that I cherish so much, and I am rooting so hard for every single one of you.

    It's wonderful to see you here!  My early betas were 88, but it was twins (one was a blighted ovum).  And now here I am at week 23!  Biggest of ((hugs)) that this is your rainbow and that the betas keep moving up.  Congrats, mama!

    Yay! Congrats.

    Try not to stress about the beta. Just like you said, it's the doubling time that matters. My first beta this pregnancy was only 49 at 14dpo and I had similar google reactions. Google is not your friend right now. But, here I am almost 20 weeks later with a legit baby in my belly :)

    Yay!!! So happy to see another ttcal lady over here : ) congrats! Your betas have to start somewhere, that number is great. I've seen many many women start with much lower numbers and they did just fine progressing.

    Aw, congratulations!!!! 

    My 1st beta was 15dpo and 50.6. My RE was happy with that and I was panicked it seemed low. So, you're pretty much ahead of where I was at that point!

    yay!  congrats!  i didn't have betas drawn in the beginning, so i'm no help there, but doubling time is so much more important than the numbers themselves.  there's such a wide range of acceptable numbers.
