Need name help!!!

I'm twenty weeks pregnant and I find out what I'm having next week. We have decided on William Eli (Taylor) for a boy but I am not set on the girls name at all. My boyfriends mother passed away last year and he really wants to name our daughter (if it's a girl) Donna. I really don't like the name, but I'm willing to negotiate. Any suggestions for first names for Donna as the middle name or vise versa. The last name would be Taylor. :-/

I don't think anyone should have to name their kid a name they don't like, regardless of reason. I don't like Donna either. Could he compromise with a middle name of Dawn? Maybe Catherine Dawn since you like classic names like William.

I'm not a huge Donna fan as a first name, but it's always nice to pay tribute with a middle name. I think because Donna ends in the "a" you should choose a first name that does not end in an "a" sound! I'm not sure you name style, but based on William being popular but also a classic I would suggest something like:

Adelaide Donna
Caroline Donna
Beatrice Donna
Isabelle Donna

All of those are classic, go well with Taylor and have a short form or nick name that may be "cute" for the younger years! I may be biased but another good one would be Jillian ...classic and sounds good

Nickname options:

Adelaide- Addie, Adell
Caroline- Carrie
Beatrice- Bea, Bee, Trixie
Isabelle- Izzy, Bell
Jillian- Jill, Jilly (although personally I have always preferred Jill over Jilly)

Yeah I don't blame you on not wanting Donna as her first name, it's pretty dated. I'm not a huge fan of putting importance of first name and middle name flow. I've never called ds by his first and middle names, so it doesn't really come up. So I would be fine using Donna in the middle name spot and choosing a first name I really loved.

What are some girl names you like? Do you and SO have any favorite names in common?

Haha I love the name Donna for that same reason... I loved that show growing up and Donna was always my favorite character!

Also, I think Donna is a beautiful middle name and it works with almost any first name.

To honor Donna, you might consider Donatella - the name is of Italian origin and it means "beautiful gift" .. Hope this helps!

I actually am not that big on old fashioned names. But it's to honor both sides of our family including my boyfriend. I will probably call him "Liam"for short. I do like the flow of the name we chose for a boy but I haven't come across anything I think sounds good with Donna. If rather use donna as the middle name: but I don't know where to start.

She was my favorite character too!! Love the show but I couldn't nane a baby after anyone on it... Haha baby fez
