Please my lovely ladies step lightly with the Sandy Hook conspiracies. Well actually all of them..
This is a very real thing for many families.
Also, not one person knows how they would react in any given situation until you're in it. Analyzing a father for his lack of emotions or nonemotions before during and after the interview is fucked up.
Until you are in that exact same situation, it's best to just not assume.
I worry about a lot of conspiracy theories because they seem to turn tragic events into a source of morbid entertainment. I'm sure there are things that the general public doesn't know about all these events, and I definitely think it's okay and smart to question our news sources, but it's too easy to forget about the people who suffered when you get carried away by the conspiracies.
I don't believe many conspiracy theories. I do wonder about the missing plane, but I do believe it could be at the bottom of the ocean as well.
What it comes down to for me is humans are involved in cover ups--and there is always a weak link. Some moron always talks. I don't think the government could keep major crap like this under wraps if they wanted to.
I don't believe any of the above conspiracy theories and it certainly is making me side eye some of you.
I do believe life exists elsewhere in the universe.
Wait, life elsewhere in the universe was a theory mentioned on here. So which are you referring to? Who's getting the side eye?
I'm side eyeing the conspiracy theories that the plane went missing for some particular purpose, that the government was behind 9/11 or sandy hook, that aliens live among us on this planet for some reason, we didnt land on the moon, that Osama bin laden isn't dead, hitler escaped, Boston bombing wasn't because of some f-ed up guys, etc. this should probably be saved for unpopular opinion day, but it seems like a bunch of bologna to me!
I don't think that life somewhere else is a conspiracy theory, it's just a theory. There is no conspiracy involved.
Interesting thread ladies-- I can't get too into conspiracy theories though when there are things that are actually verifiable that seem to get overlooked all the time, such as how our government actually subsidized racial segregation through the FHA.
Anybody watch Scandal? Obviously that's all fiction, but it makes me think about the kinds of things that the government could cover up. I still prefer to live in my bubble though and not believe in conspiracy theories.
I love that show and want Jake Ballard to show me his conspiracy theory.
Mine is that I think there are cures for some diseases and conditions (*cough*diabetes*cough*) but no one will release them because big pharma is such a $$ industry.
One of Kali's meds she took back in the day was $1600/month and when it was shown to be effective the pharmacy raised the prices to $3200/month. Over demand my ass.

I love the movie Wag The Dog. I think it's s pretty humorous look at government manipulation of the media. It's gotta be at least 15 years old now, but I still love it.
