Trying to Get Pregnant

What do you do? (besides TTGP)

After so many weeks of lurking and reading and becoming familiar with your cycles and ODs and descriptions of CM, I can't help but feel a little strange that I don't know much else about you! I am curious to know something a little more topical, and a little less cerivcal.

So what do you do for a living? What is your job? What is your #1 hobby (TTGP cannot be an answer!) Personally, I am a government policy analyst . When I am not doing that, I love to tackle DIY projects (I read Young House Love religiously).

Your turn :)

@Wine&Cupcakes Knitting is great! I don't like following patterns or anything complex, but just straight knit and pearl stitch is so relaxing. Needless to say, scarves are my forté :)

@Joy2611 Ummm it definitely sounds like a grown up job to me! But I relate to that feeling :) And yes wine drinking is a hobby

@gypsymermaid Ahhhh you're off for the summer! All the jealous! Both my parents were in education, so I had a very skewed perception of what grown ups did all summer when I was growing up.

  • I was a clinical social worker until we moved to a different state. Now I am a SAHW since my license doesn't transfer. I just started back at school this week to do medical billing and coding so I can have a skill that will transfer.

My hobbies, aside from school now, are reading, DIY projects, and hanging out with family and friends.

  • I am a new kind of drug rep, I love my job and building relationships with people. Seriously I need more hobbies I do like to read but haven't had time with moving and doing a major renovation with our new house. I guess I am addicted to hgtv if that counts as a hobby ;)

Thanks for starting @LDW176‌ it's nice to see what people do and learn more about them with out CM ;)
  • I am an Account Representative for a technology company that develops adaptive writing/assessment software for schools. I currently deal with the K-12 market. I also have a part-time job that I work on Sundays at a Drug & Alcohol Rehab. Aside from the two jobs, I am also going to college to earn my Associates in Business Administration. Oh. I also just became an AdvoCare distributor so that is taking some of my time as well.

So what do I do in my free time? What are my hobbies? I enjoy spending time with DH, furchildren and relaxing. I do enjoy running, but that has been on back burner most recently. I am a little boring, but I have so many things I am trying to accomplish right now.

  • @OnceInLoveWithAmy Wait- you get to work in a helicopter?? Awesome. And agreed, I don't know how John and Sherry do it either. I guess when it's your job you make time. I know it can't be easy and every job has it's challenges, but sometimes I just really WANT their job challenges :)

  • Good idea @LDW176‌! I work in advertising as a media negotiator (I place commercials on tv). I love my industry!! It's a fast-paced environment but it's a lot of fun (work hard, play hard!). My #1 hobby would probably be reading, followed by baking, pilates, going for walks, and drinking wine/eating bread and cheese (mmm brie!). @Joy2611‌ drinking wine can totally be a hobby! If anyone is interested in Pilates, is highly recommend checking out The Balanced Life: https://www.thebalancedlifeonline.com The instructor, Robin, has a bunch of free online Pilates classes. They're awesome workouts!

I almost didn't bother asking about hobbies because this is exactly the way I feel haha. Often my hobbies are what I wish I did in my spare time, between eating crackers and shamelessly watching The Mindy Project and 19 Kids and Counting in 3-hour-sessions.

I'm an accountant.  I have a Masters Degree and a CPA license, but i currently work in private industry (for a large national bank).  It's boring but it pays the bills. ;-)

Hobbies include: travel, planning travel, reading about travel (probably should have just been a travel agent), running, yoga, pilates, reading, shopping, baking, cooking, snuggling with my two cats, and (unfortunately) i'm going to add "house hunting" here, because it's all i seem to do lately.  DH is nursing an HGTV addiction, so he has unrealistic expectations about "things we can totally renovate" so i'm trying to keep that in check mostly.  He is in finance, so we have no actual knowledge of construction/renovating/decorating.  We are not creative people.

We might be twins, you and I ;)

  • I have a dual role as a compliance supervisor/ relationship manager for a financial services firm. I work from home and love m job! Also DH just built me a fancy standing desk and I'm exited about it.

Hobbies are reading, most forms of exercise, crochet and brewing beer.

Y'all might hate me for this, but I used to drink the YHL koolaide too. Until house 2, when I gave every project the side eye, googled something like "wtf yhl" and found the get off my internets (gomi) forum. Those are my people. Now I just hate read yhl to keep up with the gomi discussion.

  • I recently started a new job as a cashier at a grocery store, which I'm hoping will be permanent since I've had 6 temp jobs in the past 4 years.  At the end of August I'll also become an assistant librarian at a rural library.

My hobbies are baking, reading, knitting and watching too much Netflix.

  • I work in HR but my true passion is cooking. I went to culinary school and I'm currently writing a cookbook series for children that will be published next fall.

For hobbies, I like to cook, of course, and am enjoying finally decorating the house my husband and I purchased 2
years ago. Traveling is always on my
    mind as well.

    This is so cool! Congrats!

It's really true. I have such mad respect for people who end up getting paid to do what they love! At best, I like what I do, but stories like this make me yearn for REALLY doing what I love.

  • I'm a VP for a publicly traded REIT.  It is a new position for me (like 2 weeks old) but I've been in real estate since college.

I like to shop.  That's my fun spare time activity!  With my company actively selling homes, I've been blessed to also become a semi-professional home stager, so I get to indulge in my habit with other people's money.  My own house is bland as can be though,

  • Great thread! I work as a nanny which I love and I am a photographer. The kids are all about to start school so I'll have a few weeks vacation before my busy season begins with fall sessions.

I love baking, house projects, running and reading. Also spending lots of time with friends and family.

My #1 hobby right now would be DIY projects with DH. We like to build/refinish furniture. Right now we're (finally) making ourselves a set of cornhole boards.
