NBR: Proud Mommy!

So my son, with no prior training whatsoever, asked me tonight if he could pee in his potty and then used it 5 times! I was so proud I cried.

Re: NBR: Proud Mommy!

  • Thanks ladies! I'm sure it's not gong to be this easy the whole time but what a great start. I wasn't even prepared to start trying yet, I only bought the potty cuz it was on sale. I thought 2 was a little too early but hey I might as well start now if he's on board!

  • That is wonderful! We have been working with my oldest on potty training. The little stinker was totally on board until he realized that we *want* him to use the potty. Then suddenly, the wheeling and dealing started. My mother (evil person that she is), starting giving him candy if he used the potty at her house. So now he demands candy or he will refuse to go. :-w
  • That is great news!  It's a great sign that he was the one asking to go.  That's what happened with DS a few weeks ago and now he is fully trained (well, he still wears Pull Ups at night)!  It was so much easier than I anticipated but I think it was because he was ready.  I hope it continues!

  • That's really great! You said he's two but how many months is he? Dd is 19.5 months. We bought a potty chair a long time ago. She loves to sit on it but only peed in it once as an accident lol. She just happened to be sitting there without a diaper while i peed and she just happened to pee. She looked down like "what the hell was that?"

She does like to run around w/o a diaper on but will literally pee right next to the potty chair. She won't poop w/o a diaper on though so I guess that's a good sign.

I don't want to push her. It would be great if she is potty trained before Baby C comes

  • @perfectlove09 he turned 2 on July 25th so he's exactly 24 months. I bought the potty chair like 6 months ago and the exact same thing happened, he peed on it on accident once when I was getting his bath ready. He was confused and I was all excited, it was funny. I'm not pushing him too hard because it's already hard on us with daddy away on the rig until October and he just switched to his toddler bed on Friday. I don't want to overwhelm him but damn, I'm glad it's at least a start!
