Leaking milk

Hello ladies!
I wanted to see opinions about what's going on with my boobs. It's been two years since I had my baby and the other day I started smelling breast milk. I squeezed and milk came out of both breast. I've never breast fed her only pumped for two weeks probably at most.

What could this mean? I've also taken three pregnancy test all of which came out negative. Don't know if I took them too early though since my period supposed to come tomorrow.
Has this happened to anyone else?

    Yes, I had the distinct feeling of letdown and then would have milk spots on my shirt about the size of a quarter.  This was over 6 months after I had weaned my DS.  I went to the OB, and she thought it could be a problem with my thyroid.  She tested it, and the results showed I had hypothyroidism (low thyroid function).  What she said was happening was because my thyroid wasn't functioning up to speed, my pituitary gland was secreting more TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) to try and get it going.  But, since my pituitary gland was ramping things up, it also managed to reactive the hormone that causes milk production.  I would definitely go to the doctor to get it checked out.  I've been on thyroid replacement meds ever since.  My internist was also concerned about potential breast cancer, which nipple discharge can also indicate.  She sent me for a mammogram, just to be sure, but all was fine.  Again, I'd consult a doctor.

    You definitely need to contact your PCP or OB/Gyn. It's likely a hormone imbalance, most likely from your pituitary. Hopefully it's something that will be a simple fix with medication. Try not to worry too much, but definitely don't let it go. Good luck!
