Ts&Ps needed please...

I got startling numbers back from my NT scan today and had to go for a CVS and I can't keep calm. I don't know what will happen, but I'm just so worried for my baby and I want everything to be ok. I am a very anxious person even when I'm not pregnant and I'm no better when I am. Has anyone else experienced something similar and had a positive ending? I'm so scared. And so worried.

    There definitely are people with positive NT scans who end up having normal CVS/Amnio/Genetic testing

    T's and P's for you! I know how bad anxiety can be so I can imagine how rough it is for you right now. But just remember, the NT scan isnt perfect and it is definitely possible to have a healthy LO. The stress cant help you or your little so try to rest if you can.

    FX everything is okay.  A friend of mine had amnio after being told she had a 1 in 9 chance of downs. She gave birth to a healthy genetically normal girl on Wednesday.


    BFP #1 11/02/13, EDD 07/04/14, BO diagnosed 12/12/13 at 9w5d
    BFP #2 6/12/14, DD born 2/21/15

    I also have a positive NT Scan. I am too far along to do a CVS, and not far enough for an amnio. We are still debating the amnio too. We have an appointment with a genetic counselor in a couple weeks and will explore our options. I kniw this is a scary time. T&P to to you and you little one. Keep us updated on your results.

    Thinking good thoughts.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    I completely understand where you are in this. My NT scan came back high risk and I went for a CVS 2 weeks ago. All of the what ifs are such a mindfuck! The CVS itself wasn't pleasant but it was bareable (mine was done through the abdomen as opposed to through the cervix). I had to take it easy for a couple of days afterwards.

    We opted to start with FISH which gives you results in 48hrs as the diagnosis of T13 or T18 would've changed our mind o continuing the pregnancy. Those came back normal so we chose the karyotype over the microarray and waited 2 weeks for those results which thankfully came back normal yesterday.

    We are by no means "out of the woods" but definitely on the right track. MFM has me coming in for another ultrasound next week (15wks) and then the anatomy scan and fetal echo at 20 wks. So, there is a ways to go. Sure there can be a structural defect but there may not be either.

    Today is the first day I've allowed myself to relax and start to enjoy this pregnancy. It was hard to get here after hearing such scary results along with the added worry of m/c due to the CVS. Allow yourself to feel what you need to feel to get through.

    I'm hopeful for good outcomes all around <3 PM me if you like.

    Thinking of you and all of the other ladies that have had to experience this. It must be scary, but it will be ok!! Try to ease your mind, as impossible as it sounds.
    And try not to google anything about it! It will only make it worse! <3

    Keep in mind the nuchal translucency test is just a screening. They take a bunch of factors and come up with your risk assessment. This only gives you odds of what your likelihood of having a child with a chromosomal abnormality would be. This does not necessarily mean there is something wrong with your baby. Try not to worry until you truly have results and answers to worry about (easier said than done I know). When the CVS results come back, hopefully with good news, at least you will have piece of mind that ask is well and you can continue on. Good luck with everything, try not to stress.

    @mom2binppb‌ our friends got nt results that told them 1/20 chance for downs. They ended up with a perfectly healthy baby boy! I am sending ts&ps for the same success for you. Deep breaths!

    Let's just say they were really not what I wanted to hear, and so scary to me I decided not to go public with them. They were single digits and smaller than anything anyone has posted on here so far.

    I never had that happen to be , but my friend got her results back and they weren't good. They wanted her get the amnio done but she refused cause of the risk factors. She was so worried though and all I could was be there for and support her. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I know this is such a hard thing to deal with. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    **UPDATE** CVS results came back then had to go for an amniocentesis. It wasn't as bad as the CVS but I was just getting over the bad dreams about that extra large needle. I'm beyond scared and worried about these next results which I now have to wait 2 more weeks for. The results of the CVS were not at all anything I was expecting. Please continue with the T's and P's.

    T&Ps!  Why did they have you do both the CVS and Amnio? I thought they were both basically the same thing, the only difference being where the actual DNA sample is obtained?

    Sometimes they need to be certain that any abnormality found in the placenta is happening in both places. There are some cases where an abnormality can be found only in the placenta. That is what I am currently hoping and praying for. If that is the case, my baby has a much better chance of surviving. It still isn't good news, I will definitely still have a difficult pregnancy and delivery because of the abnormal/dysfunctional placenta. However, if the amino results come back showing no abnormalities in my baby's cells, I can expect a higher survival rate.

    The Amnio results take anywhere from 10-14 days. So, I'm on day 5 of waiting, potentially only 5 more days, or maybe a full 9 more of waiting.
