And I may have shed a tear earlier when I said to M "okay. Say goodnight to Daddy" and he walked right up to mh making an mmm sound, put his face up to kiss him, then did an about-face and walked right to the gate at the stairs to go take a bath
A. I have also been guilty of pounding an entire bag of @Mapleme's chocolate peppermint snaps.
2. I also adore breastfeeding. It's my favorite time spent with P. I'm sorry you don't all have that magicalness. It would be so much harder to power through the rough times without the BFing bliss.

I like your multitasking list, @TJ1979 an A and 2 list. Awesome
I also didn't enjoy breastfeeding and was kinda glad when he wouldn't nurse after 9 months (because I got pregnant.)
I found it a hassle and I never had any of the puppies and rainbows. Snuggling was nice, but you can also snuggle with a bottle, and it was nice to not HAVE to be the one to feed him ALL the time.

Yes!! There's the credit you deserved from the other day
I like breastfeeding somewhat, but I wouldn't say I love it. I do love looking at my baby's face when I feed him and I remember being sad when I weaned my daughter at 8 weeks. .. but I also feel it can be really exhausting and I would love if I could get some sleep while DH fed him. My goal this time was to get to a year, but I've already been thinking about weaning when I go back to work at 12 weeks. We'll see how it goes, I guess.

But if someone else feeds the baby, I'd still have to sit and pump. I'd much rather just nurse him than sit uncomfortably for 25 minutes, then clean and put away 100 pump parts

------ Well, shit. Sorry Jane!!!! Super duper hugs!!
I actually asked on my BMB around 10 weeks if anyone had that "puppies and rainbows" magical bond with baby from BF'ing. Only like two moms out of 35ish that responded said yes. The rest were meh about it or hated it.
We had a BF'ing check in until like 18 months, and I'd say by 6 months we were about 50/50 loving it vs. just doing it for baby.

Full disclosure: Confession A just happened. Right now. Except with the maple ginger snaps. Boom.

I never disliked BFing but I really started to love it around 6 months. It gets so much easier. I remember thinking early on that it wasn't a huge bonding experience like I expected but it is now. It's our quiet time. I still love our BFing relationship so much at 13 months.
I wasn't as committed to bfing with C but I made it to a year with H and she just sort of weaned herself. I love the bonding actually but sometimes she would punch my other boob while nursing and it would tick me off lol. I have to admit, I'm not really looking forward to bfing NKOTB but I think it's because I just finished in April :-/

Hey! That's my BMB!
I actually think we might have one or two that are still nursing!
Hi Piffle!! :-h That's so awesome that there are a few still nursing! G and I still do 2-3x a day, but he seems to be losing interest in all but the first session of the day. So I have a feeling our days are numbered.
L has been sleeping well in the RnP at night, so during the day I hold him A LOT in the irrational hope that I am encouraging him to continue to sleep alone at night.
We finally got DS to fully wean last month. And I gotta say that I fall into the 'meh' camp. It was probably much more of a bonding thing for DS than for me. Mostly, I was bored. Especially in the early days when things weren't going smoothly, and even when they finally were, he wasn't a very efficient nurser and would fall asleep mid-feed. And all I wanted to do was get up and get stuff done, but not so easy to do when getting up meant that I was going to have a tiny screaming banshee on my hands. So glad to be finally done!
