Tommee Tippee Bottle Question

I used Tommee Tippee with DS and they always worked well for us.  DD has been getting soooo mad at her feedings lately.  We're realizing she's not getting enough to eat fast enough.  I just searched for the bottles online to see what kind of nipples they have and every single one of our bottles has a slow flow nipple.  I need to order some new ones, but I'm not sure if I should get regular flow or fast flow.  Does anyone have any experience with these?  How much of a difference is there between them?  TIA!

Re: Tommee Tippee Bottle Question

  • I would go with medium flow first (those say 3+ months).  If those don't work, then you can try the fast flow.  I would imagine going straight from slow flow to fast flow would probably cause the baby to choke a little.   It looks like Target and Walmart both carry these, so you may be able to run to a nearby store instead of ordering.

  • My DS is 3 months and we have been in regular flow stage 2 nipples for about 3 weeks now. Seem to work a lot better for us
  • Are you BFing or FFing? If you're breastfeeding you would probably want to stay with a slower flow for as long as possible.
For the record, my daycare lady has noticed that it takes DS a lot longer to eat from the Tommee Tippee bottles than from his other bottles, so their slow flow may be reeeeaalllly extra slow!

This. We never go past a slow flow nipple.
  • I was BFing, but I'm not anymore.  I went ahead and switched to the medium flow.  She's been doing great since I did that.  I think what happened was that I switched to the 9 oz bottles, so I had new slow flow nipples that she hadn't broken in.  The new ones were just way too slow for her and she got so frustrated that she would just scream and cry and thrash around every time I tried to put it in her mouth.  We haven't had any issues since I switched.  Thanks for all the input, ladies!
