The Peeing Olympics

For a moment, let's forget that I pee 5 times a night....

...when did peeing become a professional sport wherein I actively have to use serious muscles and brain power for this seemingly simple task!?

I just want to pee and not stand up and realize I didn't pee all of the way!

Suggestions!? Stories!? Make me laugh.

  • @Emerald27‌ I half stand up to wipe. And pee on myself every time.

I hadn't thought of standing a bit to wipe. Usually I lean forward and risk falling off the toilet trying to reach around the belly to wipe. ;))

  • I love this post! I totally feel all of you. I can not reach to wipe either and I get up about 5-6 times a night. I was thinking about this Tuesday when I went to the doctor and was trying to pee in the cup. I cannot see to do this and don't know if I am hitting the cup or not.

Kegels don't help at all (at least not for me and for this) -- they just make me feel like I have to pee, I think b/c I'm focusing on my nether-regions while I do them.  I do think, however, they've helped me to not (fx it stays this way!) sniss yet.

Someone posted a trick/recommendation on here during 1st tri, I think, to reach over and touch your toes when you think you're done peeing and try again.  Something about the position helps you actually get everything out.  I've been doing it and seems to help... until 20 minutes later.  Boooooooo!
@Emerald27 and @MrsSarahRenee -- I feel you on the t-rex arms.  Does someone want to invent a reach-extender specifically for pregnant-lady bathroom needs?  They've got 'em for stuff that's up too high, why not for this, too.  I think there's a market.

They have a thing so you can reach to wipe!
  • Every time I go from sitting to standing I always have to pee.

  • Before you get off the toilet, lean forward and side to side. It pushes that little extra out!
  • I went to my DRs 3x in 10 days convinced I had a UTI. Nope just the baby belly smushing my bladder to no end. I feel like I have to pee again before I even leave the bathroom. And I agree, it's sad when I think I'm going to pee a lot and only a trickle comes out. I'm petrified that I'm going to wet the bed!!!

  • Omg... Dying laughing at the reacher/wiper!!! Its probably helpful for really fat people too!!
And I find I pee like every hour to 30 mins... If I'm drinking a lot of water more like every 20 minutes... But this baby in my belly LOVES to kick me in the bladder... Hard... And when that happens I have to run to the bathroom then may not actually pee at all, or only a tiny bit... Yet for some reason I'm still up at least 5 times a night to pee... :(
  • My doc called me in to do an additional urinalysis after my visit to L&D. I missed the cup and peed all over my hand only getting enough in the cup to cover the bottom - didn't even get to the first line. The nurse made a comment that next time I should wait until I need to pee.

I told her that I always need to pee and they need to start offering bowls instead of thimbles if they want a decent sample amount.
