If her baby is due in January 15 you're not a rule breaker.

Personally, I find it stupid that people "have to be on the bump" before they can join a group on facebook if they are, in fact, due In January 2015. We also (gasp) have some women who are due at the end of DECEMBER.

Coming in late to this discussion!

I'm definitely interested in joining. I didn't know we actually had one, though! I remember people asking about it a month or so ago (or maybe it was back in June...this summer has gone by so quickly!), and I didn't remember anything coming of that.

I consider myself pretty active on here, since I recognize most of y'all, but then I worry that y'all don't recognize me because sometimes I just lurk and read stuff.

I'm really just an occasional poster around here, not quite a regular. I'm not sure about joining the FB group either, I'd probably get kicked out for inactivity. My first BMB got so quiet after everyone left for FB though so I'm thinking about it this time.

A couple of other ladies have already mentioned this....

I feel like TB is already a little "you can't sit with us." I post here most weekdays, and I still feel like I'm considered a rando.

I messaged ICAW a long time ago and she sent me an email to invite me, but I never joined back then because that was right before everyone got upset that "others" were being added to the FB group. I just clicked the "Join Group" button in the email today. I definitely worry that I'll be an even bigger rando over there.

Whatevs. Everybody's a rando at some point in your life. Except for your babies, I guess.

Edit- I also get what you're saying about feeling that way on TB. I post less on the weekends because I'm not in the office killing time or procrastinating, and spending more time with family, so sometimes I feel like I can't keep up with TB enough to become a reg. But oh wells. FB is easier for me to pop in and out of, but that's just me! Everybody's different in how they do things!

I joined the FB group today - posted an introduction and people were really nice and commented welcome, and congrats....I do not feel like an outsider. I obv dont know who people are yet, but its the same thing as starting to post here regularly - at first you may feel like an outsider but eventually you wont. Gotta take the plunge sometime!

Oh, and after spending about 5 minutes on there, I like the format sooo much better.

Can you make your cover photo and profile picture friends only on FB? I'm considering giving in buttttt I still like a certain level of privacy and pictures I don't want to share. Mostly because they are of my kid...

You can make your previous ones friends only, but your current profile pic and cover photo are always public.

That's what I'm finding, too. Not sure if there was a way around this. Ack. I just looked to see how my profile looks to the public and it's pretty sparse so maybe I'll grab an invitation while I wallow in my indecisiveness.

Edit: I'm so indecisive because FB is my only way to share things with many extended family members, so I post a lot of personal stuff, so a big new group is very intimidating to me.

I don't think so - i know you can set your privacy settings so that only friends SEE your full profile but i think your profile picture and cover photo are still open to the public. Its no different then any other person on the internet coming across your profile and seeing your profile pic and cover photo.

If you are on the group - all i would see is your name, cover photo and profile picture - if you have your settings are the highest settings. Like i have said before, you can always join, look around and then decide to stay or leave if it isn't something you are into.

if you want - you can always pm me your name- I can look at your profile and tell you what i see (since we are not FB friends)- and you can decide if that is private enough for you. But that is just an idea and i won't feel hurt if you say no.

When did you ask?

I know Icarriedawatermelon is out of town.

I also know that there has been an influx of people asking and joining over the last 24 hours.

i can't rremember who the other person is who is the admin is but i can find out who else takes the requests.

I also know there was some issues with not getting the requests.

So, maybe before you turn your nose up - you try one more time. just a thought though.

@Ladyamanuet I thought they did away with that option a few years ago? I keep trying to put it back to that and stupid facebook won't let me.

I thought that too... but I have mine set so that search engines won't link to my page.. which isn't the same but.. you can make it so that only friends of friends can friend you. I hate how they loosened up privacy but whatever, I haven't had a real issue regarding it.

FWIW, I'm an active FB poster but a lurker here. I was very active on TB at first but then I felt it got so big that my voice was never being heard. I don't feel that way at all on FB. I actually feel more secure because it is a private group. On TB just anyone can lurk and look around.
