Tools are awesome. Especially hand tools like a classic hammer and nails.
UO: I think dresses on babies look weird and are totally useless when they start crawling and climbing b/c they get under their knees and trip them up. I don't think they look cute until they are toddlers.
I hate that thing at the top that loads so slowly that it shifts everything down when I try to click on one thread so I wind up opening a thread I didn't want.

What? Adults on skateboards? That just sounds like entertainment.
not when they are jumping over benches and things in a small space with lots of little kids around. They seriously almost knocked a couple kids over. Not entertainig.
I don't care what job you have. If you are a male, over 35 and have four kids, there is no reason for you to be driving a Hummer and hanging out with your teenage son and his friends till 2 am every night. Oh and <shakes fist> don't park your Hummer on the curb/on my grass.
I would vote for a bill that screens people before allowing them to become parents. And if they fail they can have some kind of class teaching them the importance of parenting and some basic skills or child development facts.
If all parents were actively involved in their kids lives and showed some trace of parenting quality (doesn't have to be near perfect, none of us are) - I think a lot of our education and crime problems would be a whole lot better.
Trying to screen people to be parents is way too subjective and impossible.........BUT, the idea of parenting classes as part of prenatal/postnatal care would be very good. I remember when dd was born, we had to attend a couple of classes taught by the nurses on caring for our newborns otherwise the baby would not be discharged from the hospital.

My DS is almost 3mos old and everyone is already asking me what he is going to be for Halloween. He's 3mos old. He's going to be a baby for Halloween. I think it's stupid to dress up a child before they even know what's going on! I think it's even worse that I know people who have taken their less than 1yr olds trick or treating. God help the person that asks me if I'm doing that!

I think parenting classes should be a part of the public school curriculum. I also think basic housekeeping and financial planning should be as well. It seems silly to me that we put all this emphasis on so many subjects that most people don't ever use in their adulthood and ignore such important life skills. Not everyone has a family unit who passes these skills down. Not everyone has a family unit who even possesses these skills themselves.
Running 2 miles in the 85 degree, 1000% humidity is not a crossfit workout. I could do that bs at home. I won't, but still. I'm not paying you that kind of money to watch me run outside on the sidewalk.
TTC with PCOS since November 2009
IUI#1 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP, m/c IUI#2 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 5-9) = BFN IUI#3 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP! beta #1 11/23 = 270, P4 = 75 beta #2 11/28 = 2055 Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012! Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!
On topic with Halloween, DH and I dress up AND dress the dog up every year with a theme. Last year was Toy Story. I was Buzz, DH was Woody, and our dog was Slink. All homemade and/or Goodwill finds.

I seriously bow to you for doing crossfit. And for doing it so soon after you had a baby. I just googled it and got tired looking at the first picture that popped up on the page.

The best Halloween costume idea I ever had for a toddler was to blow up a Beanie Baby tag on the computer, print it out, and safety pin it to the zipper pull of ds1's blanket sleeper and add a couple makeup freckles to his cheeks and call him a Beanie Baby.....costume was a success and all I had to do when we got home was remove his shoes, wash his face, change his diaper, and put him in bed.

I'm not agree with this. If people don't made mistakes on raising their first kid, they will never have a second or third kids. The first kid is the one the brings experience to parents to raise their next kids. Nothing is perfect in this world and if people don't learn from their mistakes that's when it turns in to a problems. People needs to make mistakes in order to learns, and the majority of people the are not able to get involved on their kids activity, are the one the has more than one job. On the other hand is also about culture, and the society the put pressure in some people.
Oh don't get me started on the overachievers that sew their own costumes....
Mmm, it people don't made their kids custom, what's the point for celebrating. If I don't made my kids customs, my kids will be like any other kids, with the same crap from the stores. I like my kids to be original with their own custume and not paying for it, what's more I like them to appreciate what I made for them.

Pictures?
Hopefully this works. My phone hates TB. You can't see the best part of the dog's costume, but she had a slinky tail attached to her sweater.
Ds1 wants to dress as Ash from Pokemon and dress ds2 as Pickachu....and then take him trick or treating......I have to admit, I'm kinda liking the idea.....at least for the trunk or treat.

No please go on, I'd love to hear you judge me for sewing a costume.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
Now imagine a bowl of whipped cream pantsless. I know you're feeling me on this, SAK.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
Totally agree.
