Same with us!  Flat sheets just end up at the foot of the bed in the morning, so we don't bother with them anymore.

Can you share more about this? I don't know much about blw but it seemed appealing to me. I'm open to learning more though.

I think BLW is dangerous. The other night I was holding Harper while I ate my chicken salad. She tried to grabbed a piece of chicken and put it in her mouth, Does that mean she's ready to sit down and eat a piece of chicken ? Absolutely not . They cant judge when they are ready to eat food like that.
But it's not like you're going to just pass your baby a whole piece of chicken.

They let you know they're ready, and then you set it up for them to eat safely.

  • I hate when people call their child Baby _______ (fill in blank with name). You gave your child a name for a reason and unless Baby is their legal first name on their birth certificate please don't call them that.

DH's whole family called DS1 'Baby Declan' forever. It drove me nuts. They only stopped when the twins were born. He was almost 3.

  • Everyone keeps telling me I need to sleep train my baby. I even made a post about it on FB yesterday faking for tips, but my gut is telling me to do what I've been doing.

Yeah it's probably not the best thing for him to sleep in the mamaroo, but if that's the only way he's going to sleep more than an hour at a time I'm going to do it.
No, I probably shouldn't be nursing him or rocking him to sleep every night, but if that's what he needs to go to sleep, I'm going to do that too! He's my kid, I'll do what I want!

So, my UO is I'm tired of everyone's opinion on what to do with my child!!
(I'm not talking about M'14. Just ppl I know IRL) that's probably not very unpopular. :/

  • I am not sure if this is UO or not but..
I don't feel like registering for items your child will not need/use until they are over a year old is appropriate. Especially when you have hundreds and hundreds of items already on your registry.

  • @bennia we did three difficult nights of mild Ferber. We nursed her, made sure she had a clean diaper, right room temp, soft sleeper suitr, binky, and lovey. And we went in every time she cried for three minutes to rub her face, give her kisses, whisper reassurance, and put the binky back in (because she really likes the binky not to plug her up). Didn't turn on any lights didn't pick her up or anything. It took 30 minutes of this each night. And now she sometimes goes right down or we just need to go back in once or twice and she never cries anything like she did the first night. We still have issues with MOTN wakings because were in the same room and I've been trying all different things except ferbering in the MOTN.

  • Levi has had one overnighter, about two weeks ago.  I'm up for more!  Hope you have fun at the wedding!  Being an adult couple doing adult activities is imperative for a healthy marriage in my opinion, we don't very often so given the once every? two -four months you bet we'll take advantage!

My husband and I are going up to Newport for a wedding in sept. Lo will be 5.5 months. Were leaving her for 3 nights 4 days with my mom and the nanny. I don't feel guilty. It's good for all of us.

I think Gwen stafini sings it?

I hate her.. Her style and voice is annoying and her sppearance makes me want to punch watermelons..
It's Iggy Azalea. My 4 year old is obsessed with it.

  • While we're on the topic of music, here's what could be a UO: I generally don't like pop music. I mainly listen to a lot of soundtracks (particularly anime and game soundtracks, but also some movies and broadway). I also enjoy classical :)

My UO which I didn't know was a UO: I get grossed out if there is no flat sheet. With out the sheet you are just sleeping underneath your comforter which isn't washed very often. My husband used to never use a sheet before we were married, and it was my pet peeve!

    I'm with @Ahutch428‌
There has to be a flat and fitted sheet.
My comforter/blanket/duvet doesn't get washed very often unless its a seasonal change or LO spit up/pooped on it or its attracted too much cat hair.
The sheets get washed/changed much more frequently. I don't want to sleep in a bed with a sweaty dirty comforter for months on end.
    (Slight exaggeration)

    DH is in total agreement.
  • Also, I have nursed all my kids to sleep until at least 8 or 9 months or whenever they decided they didn't want to anymore.
I rocked DD to sleep until around 11 months.
DS1 started to snuggle with daddy around 9 months then around 11 months he just wanted to go to bed.
LO is still going to bed nicely after nursing, so I'm not changing it until I have to, or until he shows signs of not needing it anymore.

Y'all must keep your houses way cooler than I do. I end up sleeping with only the sheet half the time. I don't even own a comforter - only a thin quilt.

Oh, I forgot to mention that.
It's summer. Electricity is expensive so although we do run the A/C we don't keep it super cold. We frequently just use a sheet.

  • Jenstwins said:

I live in Canada. Almost nobody has A/C here. Flat sheets for all!!

Where do you live?! We've got ac in our house :)
  • Most houses here don't have AC. Lol not hot enough.
