Dumb question about blankets

Ok so do you put a blanket on LO and for STM when do they actually start using the blanket. Like at some point they must actually stay in one general spot and keep a blanket on them. I am thinking toddler bed but like do I tuck her in? This is my random musing while I try to fall asleep.

I put a blanket on her, but it doesn't stay.

  • I give him one and it's more for comfort and he really cuddles it. It's also really hot here in the South. I like it cold at night and obviously we haven't had it that way so I am hoping by winter he'll be ready for one so I can keep the heat lower.
  • We use blankets and have done so since early on.

He mostly stays in one spot, she moves around.

  • We have used blankets for a while, we give her one because her room can get cold at night and she also likes to cuddle with it. But sometimes she will be on top of it

  • W often bunches up his blanket and uses it as a pillow. He also loves to snuggle with blankets.

  • We use blankets. It's a crapshoot if it stays on or not.

  • She's in a sleepsack because she flings herself all over the bed. She has a blanket that she plays with and lays on top of. I'm hoping we can get through winter in sleepsacks because there's no way she'll keep a blanket on and it is chilly in my house during the winter.

  • She wears a sleep sack and gets two blankets.  A smaller one she cuddles with and a heavier one that we put on top of her.  It rarely actually stays on her though and by morning it could be anywhere in her crib.  If she throws them out of her crib she gets mad and will scream until you pick them up and give them back to her.

  • We use a receiving blanket when she goes down.  She'll toss and turn for a bit, then right before DH and I go to bed, he covers her with something a bit thicker.

  • We've been using an Aden + Anais muslin blanket for about four months. E usually keeps hers on. V likes to bunch it up and sleep on top of it.

  • I started letting her have a crocheted blanket at around 11 months. She usually bunches it up and lays on it like a pillow, but she requires it to go to sleep. Along with her lovey, another stuffed animal, and her seahorse.

Right now, since it is summer we just use the A&A muslin swaddle blankets on him. Once it becomes winter I will use the A&A dream blanket.

  • HC has been sleeping with a blanket for a while, and no it never stays nicely draped over him. It's usually thrown out of the crib in the mornings.

He doesn't take a paci or suck his thumb, but he is definitely a blankie dude. He either chews/sucks on the tag of the blanket while running it through his hands to get himself to sleep.

  • When I tried to put a blanket in his crib the other week he started to whimper. He stopped as soon as I took it out! Maybe next month!
  • We leave a blanket in gas crib. Sometimes he cuddles it, recently he's covered himself with it a few times. He sweats when. He sleeps, so no need to cover him. I've had a blanket in his crib since about 8 months. Small enough that he can't wrap himself up in it. We have always used bumpers and he likes to snuggle up to those.

  • I've tried a blanket wth Emmett a few times and it was a no-go. The first time, he was upset that something was on top of him. The second time he just played with it or 30 minutes (he usually goes right to sleep) before throwing it in the corner of the crib.

  • We haven't used a blanket yet... He still only sleeps with his glow worm.
