  • Not sure if it's the same thing, but we did a two day/weekend crash course parenting thing. We learned about the delivery process, pain management options (both drugs and no drugs) swaddling techniques and cloth diapers, breast feeding basics and a bunch of other baby basics. I thought it gave us a lot of information and was very useful.

  • It wasn't helpful to me at all, but I ended up getting an epidural right away and didn't really have any pain. I had been doing a lot of reading beforehand so I didn't really learn anything new and didn't end up using any techniques. However, had my epidural not been as effective or if things would have gone differently it might have been helpful. Hard to know.

  • It was one called "Laugh and Learn about Childbirth".  Basically, the dvd is in the form of a class with pregnant ladies and their husbands.  I should probably say that the instructor was an advocate for natural birth (which I didn't do) but it wasn't the main focus of the class in my opinion (and one of the couples actually asked about drugs) nor was she pushy about it.  I bought it a few years ago so I'm not sure if I bought it through Amazon or not.

  • I've had two kids and delivered 3 miscarriages. I never took the classes and I'm not sure how it would have made things better. It just seamed like a waste of money to me.
  • We are going to take a class (or series of classes) for an unmediated birth, but it isn't Lamaze specifically.
