Are you in the FB group? (Poll)

I'm trying to decide whether or not to join the group. I'm much more comfortable with this group than I was when the FB group first started, but I am wondering if any of the ladies I interact with regularly HERE are also THERE? If it's a completely different group of women, then I don't see much point in me joining now. So, please click, and feel free to explain or reveal yourself, if you like.

I want to add that this post is in no way a criticism of any of the possible options listed. If you are on FB, cool. If not, cool. If you want to join the FB group, great. If not, that's great, too.

I agree with you. I don't intend to start said 2nd FB group, but if someone else did and was actually verifying that the people joining were regular/known posters here, I'd be very likely to join that group.

But I'm not ruling out the first group, either, and I don't have any ill feelings towards it. I just kind of want to know who is there, or if I know any of them. I'm sure relationships there have already formed as they have here, so I don't intend to join and be a total stranger in a group of tight knit friends.

Yes, or people who came to this BMB, saw the FB group existed, joined it immediately, and then never really came back here.

I heard about people inviting others into the fb group and am leery. I guess you all are Internet strangers, so I don't know why that makes a difference to me.

But, for the record, I post here, I'm not in the fb group. I would be interested in a known - poster group. Because I'm an exclusive elitist bitch.

I post infrequently on the bump, and post more on fb because it's easier for me. But I try to check in here as much as I feel like I can contribute something mildly useful.

I also don't intend to stay on here after I have my baby.

Yeah that post was ridiculous because they made it a public post and drew attention to their criteria. I think the idea behind a group where people recognize others, a group where everyone contributes, is a strong one.

I'm not in the FB group. Usually I prefer FB. It's easier for me to communicate and make friends on FB, but I just feel like I wouldn't be able to keep up with another group.

I am on the Facebook group more often than here. It's easier and I get to know people better. I just want to point out also that we don't just let anyone in but it's not a "you can't sit with us" situation either.

I'm the same as @musicgal05, I used to post here more frequently but now it's not as frequently, but am very active on the FB group. Were all the same group of girls from here (with the exception of 1 or 2 girls maybe).

I can post pictures easier. I don't have to go through- forums- birth month- january to just to get to the conversation.

IDK - i think if it is something you are interested in - join and look around, if it is not something you are interested in- then leave.

I'm not on the FB group. I'm on one for my Sept 13 bmb. But that one wasn't started until about 6 months in. I love the group. I wouldn't mind joining later. But I think I like the idea of a second group better.

And I do know that drama has ensued on different BMBs when separate groups were started. We did it pretty successfully with April '11. There was a big group. Lots of drama ensued in that group. A couple of smaller groups formed, and it was NBD.

Why not?

Nothing personal; I just have seen this as a pregnancy board. I like that this is a place where I can talk about pregnancy daily and not annoy the crap out of everyone in my life.

I just don't think I will have the time after this little one is born. I didn't do any message boards or groups with my first child; this is new territory to me. Maybe I will feel differently after she gets here.

I also am not sure of the dynamics of this site at times. Sometimes I think it's great and there is a lot of support. Other times I think women just want to tear each other down. This is a big source of the drama I see in my life (this also makes me thankful that my life is as drama-free as it is.)

@motherboy No, not unless you add them as a friend. But they will see your real name and your profile picture.

I didn't hear about this? What was it and what was the criteria?

Just judging by the list in the OP, it feels weird to me. I don't know. I'm in a private FB group with women from TB, but it's different with them. There really weren't any rules laid out, all 40-some people in the group are respectful of one another because we've been posting together so long. We don't feel like we need reminders or post counts. It's very laid back and relaxed.

I'm in a private group as well form the bump as well and I get what you mean about it just flowing well and no rules needed.

I think the only main rules of the group are be respectful, keep it private and no spamming with personal business merchandise. Every thing else is pretty chill.

There hasn't been other members added except for people from Jan15. I think there was one that was added in the beginning and she was making guesses on early u/s pictures, but she is long i haven't seen her in awhile.

There is. I think we talked about an update to make sure everyone is on the list too. The group has no drama so far. Their have been differing opinions but no huge blow out fights. I love being a part of our fb group honestly. There are a ton of funny women and great advice. Some of that gets missed on here.

Aw, I think we're pretty funny here and give good advice, too.

I'm not a member and am undecided on whether I want to join the FB group. I actually mostly like the format of TB. It's easy because I'm on PGAL, too and still often lurk on TTCAL (and a little on PAL).

I'm in the Facebook group. I don't post as often here only because FB is easier to access on my phone. I agree with the others - the group has been pretty tame so far. I also feel like it's more personable on FB, just that's just my opinion.

I was on BabyBump...and a friend of mine found the Bump FB group for me.

I only recently joined the Bump. And this is my first comment I believe.

I love the FB group. And feel pretty close to all the girls. I have a pretty good grasp of who is who. And I love how laid back it is and how supportive everyone is.

However...from what I've gathered from this thread...you all think I'm the problem here. Ha.

Only you can decide if a group is fun or not. Join and then decide for yourself. We do talk baby stuff a lot ( and food) but there have been some other conversations entering more and more.

I am active here but I have not joined the facebook group. I wanted to but now I am not sure if I really want to. I might be interested to join if all of you who post regularly here are there. I sort have bonded with you all now and have a comfort level too associated with your profile names. So i am okay just sticking around here

I wasn't on the group when most of those people were added. So j could be wrong. But from what I gathered - the few, and I mean few, people that were added were other bumpies from other groups that also happened to get BFP's and have j15 due dates. They aren't random friends, but they are bumpies who just never officially made it over to the j15 group here.

I hope that makes sense.

Yea. I have a Jan 15 due date. My friend is not even in the group...she was just in a bumpie group when she was pregnant (ovwr a year ago) and helped me find a group.

I had no pregnant friends and was feeling pretty alone in it all.

I'm so insanely thankful for the group! I had no idea I was breaking rules and didn't mean to deter other Jan 15 girls from joining. Lol

I promise I don't bite.
