15 Day No Spend Challenge Check In - 08/06/14

I passed up a book sale. I never pass up a book sale. I feel really good. I know the sale will come back again in a few months so I'm not too sad.     I bought some Reese's cups from the vending machine. My friend invited me to lunch and I told her I could go if she paid LOL.  She agreed. :) Score! I told her it could be my birthday present (it's in two weeks).

    I'm changing my meal plan. All the ingredients are still the same I'm just moving things around a bit. We're low on coffee. I made a deal to trade some soap and chapstick that I made for coffee so I won't have to spend any money.

    @mrsmechanic1 We tore down a wall between what used to be the formal dining room and our living room to make that whole space into a library/living area. It's my favorite thing about the house. I could die happy in a pile of books.

    DH and I are trying to rebuild series that we used to own. We're going through childhood series right now and I'm trying to find books with the original covers to some of my favorites. I could easily spend hundreds of dollars on books without noticing or even caring.

    I just read whatever I could get my hands on as a kid. One time I found a rummage sale with all books free. I wheeled my wagon right down there... My mom used to ground me from reading because I never did my chores due to not being able to put my book down lol.
    I did this  too. I was always getting into trouble because I was reading instead of doing something else. I just bought all of the little house books, the His Dark Materials series, and The Spiderwick Cronicals  a few weeks ago. I'm hunting for Goosebump and V.C Andrews books now. It's so exciting reading them all again.

    I'm not doing quite no spending, all i've bought in the last 2 weeks was cotton swabs and baby snacks.

    Today on Zulily they have a Ninja blender on sale.  I've even added it to my cart, that's how badly i want it.  But I'm trying to have self control.  We don't necessarily NEED a blender, ours died a few months ago so we've been without some smoothies and other stuff.  But we're trying to save for a house and we have a good immersion blender that is okay.  And I'm sure there will be a sale on blenders sometime again in the future.
