I'm sorry it's a day late, I wasn't near a computer yesterday.  Thanks @buttmonkey34 for doing the check in for me last week.

This weekly check-in is for 3T regulars to fill us in on their IVF cycle.

If you'd like to join please provide the following...

1. Where are you in the IVF process (prepping, stimming, ER/ET date, etc)
2. What cycle?
3. Test/beta day?

QOTW:  Do you have a special talent, maybe you can sew, knit, paint or maybe even do flips like an olympic gymnast?  What can you do that makes people amazed?

  • Loading the player...
  • I'm still doing lupron injections and have an appt next tuesday and hopefully can move along with this FET.  I'm getting frustrated about it all, I am TIRED of waiting.  This seems like it is the longest IVF in history.

QOTW:  I know how to use a compound miter saw and can cut crown molding and make things with wood.  My newest obsession is finding old wood that comes out of old houses in New Orleans and making things out of it.  People are always amazed when they see some of the stuff I have made.  I guess I just don't look like one of those people that knows what to do with power tools, because people always seem so surprised at some of the things I have done around our house.
    Fucking bump!!!!

Thanks for the check-in @Pintobean39!  FX you can move forward!

The bloodwork didn't go as expected.  My E2 was elevated, they checked for a cyst, but they said my ovaries look perfect.  I have to get it tested again at the start of the next cycle (CD2), FX it's back to normal or else I won't be able to start injects on CD3 - I'll have to go on birth control.

Also waiting to hear back from the RE/nurse at some point this week regarding our protocol & scheduling our IVF class!

QOTW:  I can kinda sew - simple things.  I would like to think I'm pretty handy.  I know how to use all of my husbands power tools & love working on those types of projects.  It probably drives him crazy because I always act like a kid saying "No I want to do that!"  Ha.

  • I'm sorry @ky29‌ it sucks, I know, to be put on hold. Why can't our bodies do what they are suppose to do? Get in gear bodies!!!

I wish I could sew, I just can't. Trust me I tried but I don't get it. It's funny my husband is the one that tells me "I want to do that", but I won't let him. He can't cut or draw a straight line and he screws everything up. I only let him hold things. His dad is an architect and his mom is an interior designer and he thinks that makes him automatically a handy man, but truthfully he just knows which tools are the best.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • @Buttmonkey34‌ sounds like your cycle is going good. Good luck at ER Friday! Also, Happy 35th Birthday, a day early! FX this is the best birthday present of your life.

I had ER yesterday which went really well! I was so scared but it went by so fast. I had 22 retrieved and found out today that 20 were mature but just 8 fertilized. I know 8 is a good number so that's what I'm trying to focus on, but compared to 20 mature it seems low. Four of those 8 were regular IVF and the other four were ICSI. I don't get another update until day 3 Friday which I tentatively have scheduled for a 3dt unless things are looking really good at which time they would push the transfer until Sunday.

@Buttmonkey34‌ Yay!!!! I'm glad they caught up and you are triggering tonight! Good luck at ER! I'll be thinking about you. :)

ETA QOTW: I can sew and crochet. I'm a huge reader which people seem to think is a talent sometimes LOL. Can't think of anything else right now.

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

  • @gsancho‌ I'm with buttmonkey, cute idea with the smiley faces and seriously scared of whales???? They don't even have teeth. I'd bet you would shit in your pants if you saw a shark. Just curious any side affects from the estrogen?

@jencity9‌ I'm keeping my FX for your 8 embabies. Keep us updated on when ET is.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • I never realized whales didn't have teeth... LOL.

  • No effects from the estrogen, yet...I jumped from 2 to 6 patches last night, so it may be too early to tell.  Lucky for DH, he's out traveling the rest of the week for work.  I worry he'll come home to an estrogen filled house, and I'm watching Sex in the City or Dawson's Creek reruns.

And whales may be gentle, but they are so big and powerful!  I fear they'll accidentally kill be with their tail, flip a boat over, or gently swallow me.  Not enough xanax in the world to get me on a boat tour.  Some of my DH's family is in Nantucket, so I was chugging beers on the ferry ride to the island.  And have you ever seen picture of them lunge-feeding close to boats?  OMG!!!  I have the sweats now....

    Me 33, DH 37 -- TTC since Jan'12 -- Low AMH (0.78) & endo, SA w/ low motility
    IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN
    IVF 1.2: 8R 6M 4F -- 2 blastocysts frozen, FET 8/15 = BFP!!
    Beta #s = 445;1,098; 9,545  -- EDD 5/2 -- Team Pink!
    Camila Josephine arrived 4/30 :)
  • @Buttmonkey34 No!!!!  Ugh, and it's so ugly.

This is still the most horrific thing ever

  • @gsancho‌ your fear makes perfect sense ..... There are reports all the time of people being killed by whales whopping them with their tails. :-)
