Trouble TTC

Intro

Hi Everyone,
I've been posting over on the TTGP and it has been really helpful, so I thought it was time to do an intro over here as well since I've been lurking here lately!  I hope to be able to join in some discussions over here as well if I'm welcome to.  My info is pretty much summed up in my siggy.  I look forward to "meeting" you all!

  • @catlover790 No, no real "testing" yet, other than my brain dead GP telling me after doing my yearly blood work that I'm not ovulating on my own.  She prescribed me Clomid - which I did not take.  As of right now I'm just going back to charting and see how things go, so at least if we do go to an RE I have some info to take.

Okay; yeah my OB wanted to give me clomid after I had one anovulatory cycle (which is not a good thing, but not super uncommon either after stopping the pill). Charting can be super helpful, and you're right it will help to see if you're ovulating or not. For me, seeing that I wasn't ovulating for many months made me feel "justified" for calling a RE. It helped me feel better about it.
    Good luck!

  • Welcome to 3T!  You were smart to not take the Clomid from your OB.  Good luck and I hope your stay is short and sweet!
  • @angelina2404  Thanks!  They are assholes.  Just last night one decided to attack my hair while I was sleeping.  We can't have any plants in the house because they eat them, and they will destroy anything left out that is made of paper.  But I love them.
  • Welcome, Hippo!  Hopefully you don't have to hang out here for long.

  • Welcome to the board. So glad you abstained from the Clomid. Sounds like a great idea to chart carefully and have that resource for the RE if you need it.

My first thought when I read your name was, Wow that's a powerful image and I won't forget that name!!

    CHILD MENTIONED

Congrats on your son. :) I hope he gets a sibling soon!

  • @BunnyBerry I noticed that you also have Crohn's.  Have you been able to control it with diet alone or are you currently taking meds?

I take 6000 mcg Pentasa and 6mg of the corticosteroid Entocort/Budesonide daily, plus follow a ridiculously strict low fiber / low residue diet which I haven't tolerated changing much in 2.5 years.

I know I had Crohn's since 2004 at least but first idiot dr did only a sigmoidoscopy, obviously never saw the disease in my ileum, and sent me on my way for years of embarrassment, pain and internal scarring. Just a bit bitter. Apparently I was just another college age girl who needed to reduce stress and eat yogurt.

In fact when I went back with a stricture and nonstop almost unbearable pain, they tried to make me wait around 3 months for a colonoscopy, and gave me IBS meds which thank God I didn't take b/c that would have led to instant bowel resection. Ran to new dr., put on high dose steroids, pain relieved in 2 days. :)

I see you were dx'ed rather young, which can mean pretty severe disease. How is yours doing?
