Which did you find most helpful for breastfeeding? I always used a boppy for my girls but I read some places that the My Brest Friend one was better. What do you think?
M born 1/6/09 - A born 12/31/10 - baby BOY RCS 12/2/14
I LOVED My Brest Friend. It felt more stable and being able to belt it to my middle meant I didn't have to worry about it moving or falling off if I stood. Got to be so good I can pop that thing on with one hand. Plus the back support felt great to made; made me sit up straight
My Brest Friend FTW! I had a Boppy until I used a My Brest Friend in the lactation consultants office, and I bought one from her on the spot. Best breastfeeding decision I made, IMO.
I had a hard time getting the Boppy to fit around me (larger mom here), but the Brest Friend has an adjustable strap that completely encircles you and snaps on, like an intertube around your middle. The Brest Friend pillow isn't as bulky as the Boppy, so I could snap the strap, sling it over my stroller or shoulder like a purse strap, and take it with me when we went out. I have larger bosoms, so I had to have the support of the pillow every time I breastfed, so it allowed me to go out and about without lugging a cumbersome pillow around. I also needed to feed football hold because of my large bosoms, and it was much harder to do that on the Boppy.
I loved my Boppy! I've never used a My Brest Friend so you have to take what I'm going to say with a grain of salt but I guess I didn't see the point in having the pillow wrap all the way around you? And My Brest Friend may do this too, but I liked that I could use the Boppy to prop/sit DS up.

The MBF has a piece (an arm, for lack of a better word) that is for back support, and you snap the strap to keep it in place. I also liked having it wrap around me because when I did football hold I could just slide the pillow around without having to take it off. Since I only have two hands and one of them was holding the baby, that stability was great. You also don't have to constantly shift and hold the MBF in place, which was a problem for me with the Boppy. Having the pillow strapped to me made it a part of me, so I could use my hands for other things if I needed to (especially once the baby got older).
Because I did have a Boppy we used it for floor time with the kiddos, and I had a few friends who raved about their Boppys, but it just didn't work well for me as a breastfeeding option. YMMV, though.
Personally, I really liked MBF better for actual nursing. The Boppy is great for tummy time (and for me to nap). Beyond that, I NEVER used is while breast feeding. I'll be dusting MBF off again before I know it.
I have one of each. I love MBF - it's stable and great for those early nursing days when you feel like you just need to be ready to go at any time. But I thought the boppy was more portable. Also, the foam in the MBF deteriorates over time and I've had to buy replacements for my second and third. But the covers are re-usable (and seriously, get more than one cause -ew...)
Re: STMs - boppy or my brest friend?
I never used the Brestfriend so I can't compare. Try the Breastfeeding board, lots of knowledgeable ladies there.
