@KikiCohen yay, that's great news!! >:D< and ~O) to all that need it. @missymr hope your day goes well @casey78 and @econmama , hope the rashes clear up soon
Allie has had a low grade fever for 2 days and this morning has a slight rash....thinking maybe mmr reaction?
Yesterday was day 1 of cutting out nap and bedtime bottles, her milk intake was huge while we were away. Nap time was brutal, but she eventually went down, bedtime was slightly better.
Headed to the dentist today and then to my parents for my dads birthday....
@martyn17 yes Gordon's mentor was most definitely German! Dorky fact coming up, My cousin's classmate was in that movie. She was the girl who figure skated abd had the little brother who loved hockey. It was filmed in Minnesota I believe abd a huge majority of us here are German.
Haddock is running a slight temperature today and he's been pretty clingy. He actually walked over to me several times this morning and just snuggled up I hope he's ok. He had his shots on the 29th so I'm assuming it's not from that, who knows.
We've been really lucky that he hasn't been sick, like at all, this past year. I hope he's not coming down with something.
The cleaning lady is coming this afternoon so I was going to go shopping. Hopefully he's feeling better after his nap.
Well, hallelujah, holy shit. It's still morning and Luke is napping.
And about 5min in I'm afraid I'm going to poop my pants, but I can't put him down without waking him up. I'm really honestly not sure which option is less appealing.
Gritting my teeth and getting to my reading, I guess....

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.

@haddocky, I'm sorry for a sick feeling baby. Our pedi said to expect reaction from shots up to 7-10 days delayed. It seems like you are right in that window.
Hopefully that's what it is. The snuggles are kind of nice (instead of biting or pinching or hair pulling, lol) but I still don't like to see him not feeling well. Thank you
Hey @lizabethann06 just curious how nursing is going with your osteoporosis. I thought I remembered you saying a while back that you would have to wean as soon as Brynne turned 1 because of your health issues. Are your doctors allowing you to continue or are you being a rebel? On the BFing thread yesterday I noticed you said you were still nursing. If you've already posted about this and I missed it I apologize!

I do have a very good idea of the maximum poo capacity of Luke's diapers....they can hold a LOT ;;)

So I've been having knee pain for about a month and finally decided to go see an ortho about it. They just sent me for x rays. I don't want to see the bill for this! We just got the bill for Eli's tubes yesterday abd it was about $300 more than we were expecting. Holy cow, the doctor just saw me and he's super hot!
@haddocky I hope your little guy isn't getting sick!

We met our high deductible plan OOP max on Feb 1. But we switched to my insurance July 1, so this year we get to hit two OOP max. Here's hoping we don't hit the max on this one, but who knows. We have our ENT consult today.

I'm judging my friend hard. She's 38 weeks pregnant and has a two year old. She has been talking about induction for weeks because she is tired of being pregnant and taking care of a toddler.
Her doctor said he'd induce her this week but she turned him down. I bet she is induced next week.
What's wrong with letting the baby decide when it's ready? I was induced for medical reasons, but otherwise I would have held off until 42 weeks.
I can see both sides of this. My first pregnancy I was totally easy breezy about when the baby would come, and actually hoped he would be late for various logistical issues! So when my due date came and went I was not upset. J was 5 days late and I was totally cool with that. Second pregnancy when you already have a toddler is so different. My dr did offer to induce me and I turned him down because I'm not a fan of elective inductions (and not a fan of pit in general), but I did let him strip my membranes at 39 weeks... and then L was born exactly 24 hours later. Anyway, my point is there are just a lot more factors involved when you already have a kid. If you're worried about who will take care of kid #1 while you're in the hospital I can see the appeal of scheduled induction.

I am down to two nursing sessions. The one before bed will be hardest to give up. It's so darn emotional.
I actually did what was an incredibly stupid thing in terms of care for myself and rescheduled the appt with my Loyola team (endocrinologist and orthopedic specialist) to October. To was supposed to be next week. I knew they would give me a hard time for still nursing. I have a repeat DEXA in October as well. My bloodwork and urine test showed that despite the massive amounts of calcium and vitamin D, my body is absorbing none of it and still pulling calcium from my bones. I've been in a lot of pain lately so the hope is that when I am done nursing, the pain goes away.
Thanks for asking. I have a lot of sadness and anger over this. I'm hoping one day that I can be more at peace with it all like @econmama.
@lizabethann06 There is so much emotion involved in weaning, I can't imagine dealing with that and health issues on top of it. Honestly, I think I would have done the same as you and tried to bump back my appointment. I'll be thinking of you as you navigate through this situation.
ETA: I realized I tagged you wrong the first time! Whoops! Glad you still saw the comment

I was going to be induced at 39 weeks with Isaac because of my hernia and health issues. I went into labor at 38/6 instead. I was irrationally annoyed because he couldn't hold off for 9 hours. Whatever. The tease.
I just got back from my afternoon break and I'm feeling a little emotional. I've mentioned before that our DC is a two minute walk from my office which allows me to go nurse during the day rather than pump. Lillie's interest in nursing while at school has been dwindling for the past month but I've still been going over there, even if she was only nursing for 2 or 3 minutes. Well last week one day she flat out refused to nurse, and then refused every day since then. I've offered every day for a week and she really doesn't want it anymore so I'm conceding that our daytime nursing is really over. I expected it would happen around this point, now that she's mobile and so busy in her classroom, but I'm still sad. It has been such a special part of my work day to get to see her and now I will have to emotionally wean myself off that. I'm still going to go visit briefly for a few more days but I will eventually need to stop because I know just popping in can be disruptive. I'm just going to have to savor our morning and nighttime nursing cuddles even more now.

DHs boss is driving me mad. I don't know how hes dealt with him this long. He keeps calling and texting. I want to shourtat him "He is on vacation and he is not salary. You are not allowed to continously call him like this. You are harassing him!"
DHs step mom is Loss Prevention for the company. She has agreed he is not allowed to do this. And there are many things he has done that could get him fired. Dh said he made a list of all those things in case his boss tries to start anything. He has emails from him as well. Which he is not allowed to send him since DH does not have a work email and is not salary.
I am so sick of this guy. He tries to tell DH "I got you that raise." No. DH did by working his ass off and having to deal with his dumb ass for two years.
I cannot wait for him to get away from that place. I work for the same company (a second job and not often) at a different location and it is pretty bad there. Their turnover rate is insane. No one wants to be there.
Tl;dr DHs boss is driving me mad and he continues to think he is above policy.

Weirdest interview ever. It was another group interview. Four of us. If you ever find yourself in a job competition with Mary Poppins, just turn around and leave. Seriously. This lady was a nurse in England, and came to Canada a year ago. She will get the job for sure, which is fine, the more I learn about it, the less I want it.
I actually got to the point during the interview where I felt I better stop selling myself. Is that bad?!? Its a 45 min drive for barely more than minimum wage. Working some overnights where I alone would be responsible for the 177 suite retirement facility. Thanks, but no thanks. Too much responsibility, too little pay.

This kind of thing annoys me. I had a 2yo, and went to 41.5 weeks with an induction (midwife's policy is 10 days overdue). Seriously, pregnancy is a pain in the... everything... by the end, but baby is ready when baby is ready. I don't understand the need for people to evict babies early. If they're still in there, they're in there for a reason.
Just finished my massage and now I'm getting my pedicure <:-P

@LadyBlue07 If the worst thing your 38-week-pregnant-with-a-toddler friend is doing is complaining, I think she's a pretty great mom.
I'd be complaining too.
The above being said, I admit to being really complain-y at 38 weeks, too.
And at 39... and 40... and 41... and every day in between.
Ben still has the same ear infection that he's had since June, so he's getting tubes. I hope it brings relief to him.
