Because we're all great moms who are doing the best we can. Let's take a break from beating ourselves up over the things we can't control and share some of the moments where you realized that you're doing a pretty amazing job after all.
Every time I get him to fall asleep on my own. DH is the baby whisperer and LO falls asleep so fast for him so when I can do it by myself it makes me feel so awesome. I have said it before I high five the air when I do it because it makes me feel like such a good mom. It's the little things haha.
I make time to talk to each of my girls individually at some point in the day--I stop trying to juggle both and have some one-on-one time. We're talking some serious eye contact and smiles at Mommy throwing around her old SAT vocabulary (yesterday's word of the day was "inanities"). Doesn't sound like much, but it's a reminder that despite all the girls' yelling, they really do like me sometimes and I'm doing the best I can.
Yesterday on our way home LO would not stop screaming because she was sleepy and we lost her pacifier (she cannot fall asleep without us holding her without a pacifier). Mommy was so resourceful and busted out the bottle cap to let her suck on it. 20 seconds later she was out and i put the cap back. Proud mommy moment! DH was so glad since it was a 30 min car ride.
Of course we found the pacifier later in the trunk...

That idea is genius!
I got LO to sleep on her own without our usual soothers, etc. We stayed over with family, and the mobile just wasn't doing it for her. I was able to rock her to sleep, which impressed DH big time.
My LO will only go into her bassinet if she is already asleep, but after holding her for what seemed like forever my back was giving out and I needed to put her down. She was tired and fighting it, but I wrapped her in the shirt I was wearing and she was out in less than a minute. I can't believe how excited I was to outsmart a 6 week old!!!
I love watching his little body fill out. Slowly but surely the rolls and creases are coming in and his cheeks are full and beautiful. Feeding was tough in the beginning but watching him grow before my eyes gives me all the reassurance I need to know I am doing right by my boy. **PROUD MOMMY**

I love to see the rolls too! And the double chin! It makes me feel like my milk is going somewhere! My FIL told my DH that we should take LO swimming to burn some fat. Gimme a break!
I love when at 4am the baby wakes up and DH gives LO the bottle I've pumped previously that is measured out perfectly to the exact 4oz mark already sitting in the bottle warmer full of water ready to go under the night light in the kitchen waiting for him while I pump another bottle for the next day. Then we finish at the same time, baby goes right back to sleep, we high five and pass out.
