Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair?

Anyone have this?

I realized today, as I was mentally ticking off the items we have received as shower gifts, that I totally forgot to actually add this to our registy. Silly me! However, I don't like the pattern of the one that Buy Buy Baby sells, so I was just going to order this myself off amazon. I'm a little worried though, because we have padded chairs at our kitchen table. Do you think that this would cause the space saver high chair to be unstable? Any other mom's out there have this high chair and have used it on a padded chair?

  • i have an older version, pic below, and have really loved it.  i don't have any experience using it on a padded chair but i did want to offer the following:  the liner/padding is removeable for washing (you may be doing this often!) and you can buy spare pads to change out so don't be too worried about the print if you can get a great price.  around 18mths when DD started to try and feed herself i took the pad off and rarely put it on anymore because it gets super dirty at almost every meal!  we went for the deluxe version with a removeable tray but it was a waste.  my thought was if she got totally messy at one meal i could take the insert out and have a clean tray for the next  but i ended up taking the insert off completely because she would pull up on it and get food underneath.

    - i don't have the same padding as pictured but wish i did, it's cute!

  • We also have one and we liked it! DD is in a booster now, which I know this can convert to, we just didn't do that. We like it for taking with us to the ILs house and we liked the fact that it didn't take up an extra chair's space like a regular highchair.

  • We have it and love it! We don't have padded chairs but I feel like your able to tighten it a lot so I don't think it would slip around.

  • We have it. You can tighten it pretty tightly, so we never had a problem with it moving or sliding. It also had grips on the bottom to help keep it from sliding. It did leave some dents in the padding of the chair, but those went away. The only complaint we had was it wouldn't fit under our table with the chair pushed it. So we had to keep in in a seperate spot. This took away the space saver part of it. We will use it again with this LO because we have it already.

  • My review on this is ds1 it worked great. He never had a desire to rock, lean forward it move around a lot

ds2- completely different and needs a high chair, he tries to crawl out even clamped in and rocks back and forth nearly topping it over.
We have to have the back of it anchored elsewhere
  • We have padded chairs & this high chair. It does leave indents on the padded chair, but they go away. We've also put a towel under it to lessen the dents.

I personally would never register for a high chair or any items that a baby won't even use for 6 months or so.
This! We did ask for a high chair for our Christmas wish list for DS1 (he was born in November).

  • We had a full sized fancy-pants Peg Perego high chair that someone had handed down to us, and that lasted less than a week in our small house before we gave it to my mom to keep at her house and went and bought a FP space saver.  I love it.  It was the perfect height for our kitchen table when DD could use it without the tray and sit at the table with us, or sit there for a snack so I could do her hair or whatever.  The tray says it's dishwasher safe, but it didn't fit in our dishwasher.  That is absolutely my only complaint and I recommend this chair (or some kind of strap-on highchair/booster) to everyone.

It's so convenient.  We brought it with us when we went to visit family for a long weekend, and we brought it to Thanksgiving dinner a couple of times at another family member's house.  Thanksgiving dinner was the only time I used it on padded chairs, but it fit fine and was perfectly snug and secure.  I would imagine that having it on a padded chair long-term might leave dents, though.
