Plus size nursing pjs?

Since our babies are coming when it's cold out, I'm looking for some plus size nursing jammies that don't break the bank.  Anyone have any tips?  I've looked on motherhood, DM, etc and haven't found anything.  I'd just like a pair of pants and top that makes it easy to whip the boob out.  The only set I've found is on Amazon for $75, which I think is a little much for PJs.

What is everyone planning?  I feel like I'll freeze in just nursing tanks.

I have never been so sweaty in my life! Also the tank works well to put a nursing pad into and it stay.
Eta: You could always keep a robe by your bed?

  • Cool, good to know!  I'm thinking a tank and a robe nearby if I get chilly while nursing!

    Thanks!

  • Did you look at Target?  They have a TON of really comfy looking PJs and nursing tanks in a variety of sizes.

  • Like PPs, I never messed with nursing pjs. However I did wear a tshirt or sweatshirt over my nursing tank usually, depending on how cold I was. Shirt goes up, boob comes out, and tummy is still covered. Works great as long as your top is loose enough.

  • I've found that nursing tops are really only necessary if I'm trying to be discreet; when I'm in my house, I tend to wear whatever shirt I want and either pull it up out of the way or just take it off entirely while I'm nursing because I don't care how exposed I am when it's just DH and the kids around. So if you're anything like me, you could probably make do with whatever pjs you already have.
  • I would think you could easily nurse with regular pj's...like the kind that button down the front. They always have them super cheap at WalMart in the winter.
  • A button down shirt saved me with dd. I still have it and plan on using it again.
  • I lived in yoga pants and tank tops with the thinner strap. Those are very easy to whip the ladies out of! I even wore the yoga pants and tank during the day ;)

I anticipate wearing yoga pants quite a bit on Mat leave.  :)  Question - should I buy some Maternity yoga pants or just regular?  As of right now I have one pair of Mat yoga pants, wondering if I should get another one or two.  I hate not knowing what I'm going to need!

I bought one pair of maternity yoga pants but I bought them a size smaller. I know with my body I can do that, so just make sure it's a smart move for your body! Some cheap none maternity ones are good too. Last time it took my uterus no time at all to go down and it also depends on how much weight you gain while pregnant. I was able to fit my old yoga pants but not my jeans and I gained 23lbs last time
  • Thanks @maelara
