  • Sending lots of Ts and Ps your way!
  • Just had the ultrasound. My cervix is long and closed, yay! The spots where I'm having the most pain are where the fibroids are located, so they're definitely the culprit. Oh, and we know 100% it's a girl! My hubby is thrilled.
This made me smile. I'm so sorry you're having such a rough pregnancy, but I'm thankful that your cervix looks good.

@NatureLovers Does this baby girl have a name yet?

  • Wow, what a rough time! Glad you got *some* good news... Hope everything settles down for you! Glad baby is ok.
  • i'm so glad your cervix is looking like it should.  as miserable as all this undoubtedly is, it sounds like your little girl will be staying put for a while (and is growing good too!).  i hope you can get some relief.

  • Praying For Your Strength And That Things Will Get Better. God bless

    Isaiah 12:2 MSG

“Yes, indeed—God is my salvation. I trust, I won’t be afraid. God —yes God !—is my strength and song, best of all, my salvation!”

    Colossians 1:9-12 MSG

Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.
  • Thanks for the thoughts and prayers ladies, y'all are the best! Overnight I had a Toradol/Morphine cocktail that's kept me pretty comfortable, and the contractions have been mild ones and not very painful. I'm just so glad and thankful that it wasn't "real" labor. I assume once my doctor sees me this morning I'll be sent home on pain meds.

  • I'm glad all is ok with baby girl and that they've got you comfortable. I'm sorry you are going through all of this! You are one strong mama!

  • So I won't be going home as soon as I thought. I'm still getting the IV pain meds, and they're starting to slowly transition me to oral pain meds. They want to be sure my pain can be controlled by the pills before letting me go home.
    image
  • T&P going your way. I have to use narcotics for my chronic pain condition. I usually take enough to make the pain bearable, but less than what's allowed. With my last pregnancy, my OB recommended cutting back during the last tri by 20% each month. I found the easiest way for me to do this was to increase the time between doses.

  • Thanks for the tip @2000cougar‌. I'd be devastated if she was born compromised in some way because of the narcotics. Although the doctor made it clear skipping the meds is not an option, even if I could stand it, which I don't think I could. The pain is very intense, and the stress of that pain long term could definitely trigger a premature delivery.

I'm glad they're taking the time transition! It's better than coming back in a day because the oral meds aren't controlling the pain.
Exactly, that's what the doctor said too.

  • Just read this and wanted to add good thoughts and prayers to you.  I am sorry you are going through this and I hope your pain stays controlled.  Thinking of you!
Live like there is no tomorrow..Love like you have never been hurt...
  • The great news is that your little girl is doing so well!
My son has shown no signs of any effects from the narcotics. Low muscle tone is one of the side effects of exposure and he had excellent apgar scores at birth. I think there's a big difference between babies born to drug addicted mothers vs ones born to women who need to use medication for its intended purpose.
I'd like to think that the OB's are being conservative when they prescribe pregnant women pain medication. My OB said the same thing about the fact that going drug free was not an option for me. I hope the transition to the new medication goes well.

  • @NatureLovers‌ So sorry you are going through this but glad to hear your baby girl is doing so well!
I have four fibroids that they discovered at my NT scan a few weeks ago. All the doctor said was that they were going to monitor them and hopefully, they would get smaller.
How many/ what size do you have?

  • @2000cougar‌ thanks for sharing yout story, that makes me feel better.

@tarala‌ I have 4 fibroids, per my last ultrasound. Two of them are under my placenta, they're about 3-4cm. I have another that's close to 8cm and it's posterior, so it's causing me awful back pain. The other is about 7cm, and is on my lower right side, above and to the right of my cervix. The measurements are per my last ultrasound, I'm due for another one this week. They may have grown. Before I got pregnant I only had two fibroids, around 2cm. The other two have cropped up since my BFP.

  • Wow. So sorry you have been going through this. But it sounds like LO is hanging tough and that you are getting great care! Hopefully it gets easier w/the right meds on board.

  • I'm glad for the good u/s you were having and I hope they can find a regimen for the pain meds that help you.

Seriously cannot catch a break is literally what I was thinking with most of your posts on this thread.  :(

One of my March 2012 moms was in the hospital for about 15 weeks with PTL.  It just kept coming back (apparently her placenta had small tears when she delivered).  After that and a NICU stay for her daughter (at 32 weeks the doctors stopped giving her the drugs to stop PTL at that point), her little girl is perfect.  I pray/hope/whatever good mojo is out there comes your way, too, and after everything you end up with a perfect little one, too.

  • I want to throat punch my nurse. Thank God she's off duty now. I've been in a considerable amount of pain all day, and I got the feeling she didn't believe me. Turns out she doesn't. The severe pain that my doctor diagnosed as fibroid degeneration? It's just round ligament pain. My throbbing back pain caused by my 8cm fibroid? It's just sciatica. My severe nausea/vomiting? It can't be that bad, and I can't really need round the clock Zofran and Reglan, because when she was pregnant, she had HG too for all 9 months, but she chose to forego meds because she found the constipation to be worse than all day vomiting. My migraine level headache? Since I had one fioricet, it should be gone. Never mind that it's NOT gone, that my at home rx calls for two pills, not one, and that I've had ice packs on my head all day. The one pill should have worked, so the fact that I say it hasn't is irrelevant. 5 hours ago she was supposed to call my OB to get permission to give me two pills. It turns out she never did, so the now the new nurse has to do it.

    I hate her.
    image
  • Ugh.  That nurse needs to stop playing the "My pregnancy was like this, so yours can't be like that" game.

Obviously she's SOOOOOOOO special because you have fooled everyone else but not her.  *eyeroll*  Maybe she's constipated now and that's why she's such a jerk...
