@wrightpalomo Oh you are absolutely correct about the target registry suckiness. I did a registry for completion codes and have had more luck with the app working but it's a slow pia.
I cannot stand the availability of items when you have a store selected. I want to be able to pull up a list of things sold in the store! I don't care about online. They did have that as a search option before my app updated.
Anyway, your irritation is totally justified. My only other option is walmart and I avoid our local walmart like the plague.
The timer on our flood lights in front of our house broke the other day so the lights have been on ever since. H says he's going to look at it every day but hasn't. No big deal to me until our son touched one yesterday and burned 3 of his fingers. They even have blisters on them from the burns! I had no idea those lights got that hot. He only touched it for a second before he was sobbing. Of course my husband says, "yeah, those are halogen bulbs, they heat up to like 200 degrees!" Oh yeah, obviously I knew that...
So that's my random bit of information for the weekend. I learned something new. And the husband better be fixing that timer so our scorching flood lights are no longer on during the day.
We took our longer haired cat to the groomers, because he needed it... now our other cat only hisses at him and beats him up(probably because he smells different). The poor long haired one just takes it because he is younger and submits to the older one, but DH and I are sick of the constant hissing and growling. The poor long haired cat was just sleeping on the foot of the bed and the other one just wailed on him. We are now spraying the short haired one with water every time he beats up his "fur brother" which has sort of slowed down the random assault, but has mostly led to a soggy cat meowing at us for attention. I swear in the short haired cat's past life he must have been a diva... </rant>
@wrightpalomo I too gave up on the Target registry. Though, they sent me the completion coupon...and the discount is a little more than BBB's...so I'm sure I'll be adding some things last minute and picking them up there....you know, if stuff stays in stock long enough! My mom insisted that I register at a brick and mortar b/c she was convinced that a majority of the guests would not want to online shop...well, I checked my registries today and my Amazon one is almost half empty, while the BBB one has barely been touched. There's still 2 weeks left, so that could change, but I just thought it was kind of funny that she made such a big deal out of it.
Anyway, kind of going along with that...I really wish mom scheduled the shower a little earlier. I'm getting to be really uncomfortable and irritable; and I'm stalled out on what I can do to prepare for this LO which is stressing me out a little. I feel like I need to start picking things up at the store like clothes and diapers...but mom told me to stop buying things. I also want to get the car seat bases installed, finish up the nursery, get clothes washed, and get everything organized...but I don't have everything to do that. I just really hope that in 2 weeks, I won't be too uncomfortable or irritable to enjoy my shower. I've been looking forward to seeing everyone, but my patience regarding touching my belly, comments about my emotional state, and suggestions about raising my baby are really wearing thin.
On the plus side, I did find curtains for the nursery and hung those up this weekend.

Today on the way home from the grocery store, I said I wanted to go to BRU so we could get some new pacifiers for the baby. Dd2 asked why the baby would be crying and the proceeded to cry like a baby to illustrate what she meant. Instead of saying "wah wah" she said "whyyyyy whyyyy?!"
This is pretty much my nightmare. The two older ones are firmly in the "why" stage and it is driving me insane. I certainly don't want another kid constantly asking (or sounding like they are asking) "why?"
Spending the rest of the evening researching used cars for DH. He was rear ended last weekend, and we learned his car is totaled I'm glad he's ok, and everything was the other lady's fault, but shopping for cars is not what I wanted to be doing at almost 8 months preggo! We are hoping to find one tomorrow, since we only have the rental car til Tuesday, and we work opposite work schedules so sharing a car isn't really an option.
Also, even more random, I had a very odd grocery shopping experience today. First, I was walking by the bakery and saw they had cookie samples. So I take one, duh. As I'm walking away a random lady comes up to me and tells me this grocery store has the BEST chocolate cookies and points them out to me. Ok, thanks. Then like 20 minutes later she comes up to me AGAIN, now in the juice aisle, and tells me something about her kids loving Crystal Light. I just walked away. Maybe I'm a bitch, but I like to grocery shop in peace, woman.
Then I saw someone else in the store walking around with a bottle of ranch dressing in his back pocket.
Wearing headphones, even if you're not listening to music, helps. Most people usually figure you don't want to be bothered.
@wrightpalomo: I'm shocked at how awful Target's registry system is, both in store and online. I figured it would have improved since I registered for my wedding four years ago, but it's still pretty bad. I have trouble even getting my registry to load online. My other registry at BBB has seen a lot more action, and I think the technical issues with Target are somewhat to blame. But Target is five minutes away (and BBB is more like 20-30), so I still feel like I need a registry there.
One more weekend random: One of my patients told me last night that I should consider natural childbirth because my husband would appreciate me and the baby more. Wow.
I have been lucky for the most part during both of my pregnancies regarding touching of the bump... in that I can only think of a couple times it's happened ever during both pregnancies. Today was one such time and I didn't like it.
I was helping a customer in his 50s or 60s and he asked me when I'm due. Before I could answer he laughed, leaned in, touched my bump, and said, "I hope it's not a tumor." Haha? Uh no. I don't have enough experience dealing with this crap so I just politely backed up and told him I had a month left. What is wrong with people?
For some INSANE reason, I decided that this weekend would be a perfect weekend to overhaul our 20x25 kitchen by starting to paint the cabinets. Yeah, this sucks.
@wrightpalomo, no registry this time 3rd baby and all, but with my first 5 years ago the Target registry sucked so bad I got 5 of the same swings at my shower. It was sad and comical all at the same time. I love me some target therapy, but I can be objective about the crap that their reg system is
baby #3 arrived in September 2014...cannot get ticker to work no matter what I try!
Can anyone tell me why it is so hard to spell the word "advice"? I see it spelled all over TB spelled "advise" I just don't understand.
That's my random post for the day
DH and I just got back "home" from the apartment we are moving into this week(we get our moving truck Tuesday! yay!). We finished unpacking the kitchen completely and washing up all the dishes. I am so ready to be out of my IL's house. I am also so proud I got so much done today. I'm finally getting to take full advantage of the nesting instinct.

@camichael84 That's awesome! I love hearing about other Jaguars fans, especially outside of Jax. We haven't gotten any Jags clothing for the baby yet but I'm sure as it gets closer he will have plenty! The prices at the stadium are insane (25 dollars for a onesie?!) so I'm waiting for other stores to get their NFL stuff in.
I'm relishing going to all the pre season events since I won't be going to a game until at least November.
I get you on clothes being too expensive at the stadium. I checked out a Colts fan shop earlier on, and couldn't believe the prices. I waited until Target got some clothes in to buy her a Jersey. The other three onsies were gifted to me. We're going to have to pay the outrageous prices for her Jags stuff, though, because you can't find anything Jags in Indy at all, and have to go the online route.
Could you see the new pools they added to the stadium when you were there? DH was so excited about that even though we've been to exactly one Jags home game.
It kills me, too, that I won't be able to make it to a game until Nov/Dec. I planned on trying to make it to a pre-season game, but our August weekends are so full that it's not happening. DH is going to a game with his dad in October. I was invited, but I don't feel comfortable leaving the baby that soon. At least there is still the option of watching it from home, I guess.
@camichael84 I did find some onesies at Target for much less!
Yea, my seats are near the end zone so you could totally see the people hanging out in the pools. The scoreboards are pretty awesome too!
DH looked at the schedule and it works out that the better games are in the second half of the season anyways. I'll be watching them from home but it won't be the same.
Finally! My September Siggy Challenge: TV Show I'll Be Binge Watching
@nilvero, I forgot about the new scoreboards. I don't know how because I've heard more than once how they have the largest scoreboards now. We've got a trip to FL planned in April, and I feel bad the next time we'll be there is when it's not football season. I promised him next trip will be in the fall.
We have some good match ups in the second half of the season, too, but my complaint is that it'll be cold and they'll close up the roof at our stadium. Plus, I just don't want to wait that long to go to a game.
