Back story: 1st pregnancy had no nausea and CRAVED all the healthy foods. This pregnancy...much different. I was so sick the first 14 weeks. i just feel blah! Soooooooo... I was complaining to SO that i can barely gag down vegetables to which he replied, "I know and im a little disappointed in you". Seriously. Because that makes me a terrible preggo? Throat punch comment of the summer. Winning!
Um so I get up with our DD at 5 am and then go to work and then come home, cook everyone dinner, do bath, bedtime and clean the house and go to bed at 10 pm. All while pregnant and I've been doing this or worse for a year and a half. Dude....fuck you!
I just remembered one, told a salon customer that I was curious to see if the baby would have straight or curly hair like me and our mothers and I got " I didn't know Mexicans could have curly hair?!" :-??
Now that I'm expecting I can't do certain things at work that I used to before. Moving heavy boxes for example. My office had a project to work on that I couldn't be apart of that involved manual labor but I had to hold down the fort in the office. Duche bag supervisor say "Gee, I wish I could get prgnant to get out of work. " WTF?!? I didn't get pregnant to Not Work. I got pregnant to have a family ass hole.
November Siggy Challenge: How I feel in the Third Trimester
While walk up to a building door at school someone walking up from behind sped up and said, "omg I'll get it since you can't. Or wait can you? Should you? I don't think you can, it's way too heavy for you."
Like, yes I can open my own door! I'm pregnant, not missing limbs. I can and prefer to open the door myself!
I see my mother today for the first time in a week and a half.. She walks up to me, slaps my thighs, and then proceeds to say "you sure your not carrying that baby in your thighs instead of your tummy?! ... Thanks mom.
This week I had a client tell me, "You sure did wait later in life to have a child". I was stunned & didn't know how to even respond other than "Yeah....?" (I'm 37 btw)
@chelseavranich Trust me, I wanted to! The only thing holding me back was my 83 year old grandma was present, and I didn't want to get vicious in front of her!
Secratary at work this week to me- "I think your scrub pants are too tight"... I say "well way to make the pregnancy lady feel good about herself" then her counter part chimes in "oh you're pregnant that's explains things. I saw you in that black shirt the other day and thought you really had let your pooch go a bit too much". Really lady?!?!?!? I'm almost six months pregnant and about to throw you to the ground.
I see my mother today for the first time in a week and a half.. She walks up to me, slaps my thighs, and then proceeds to say "you sure your not carrying that baby in your thighs instead of your tummy?! ... Thanks mom.
I just almost spit up my drink when I read that. Are you my sister? Bc I think we have the same mom. Mine would totally say that.
Throat Punch Moment: MH told me this morning that my body can handle pregnancy bc of evolution. He said that women gave birth in the woods, so I'll be just fine with my modern ammenities. He was trying to make me feel better bc I have been having a lot of RLP, but it didn't! I'm not a cave woman and I am not adapted to give birth under a tree.
My husband:
"I had to work 14 hours today. I am exhausted"
Um so I get up with our DD at 5 am and then go to work and then come home, cook everyone dinner, do bath, bedtime and clean the house and go to bed at 10 pm. All while pregnant and I've been doing this or worse for a year and a half. Dude....fuck you!
Um I think you just quoted my exact life except it's DS and not DD! I seriously have to abstain from physical violence every time he says this. Then I mention I'm tired once and he's like "well I just worked 14 hours on my feet" Yeah, ok, I'm growing a human and raising our toddler and working full time so STFU!
D14 November Siggy Challenge: The feels of 3rd trimester...
I work for a timeshare company (I manage the resort, I DO NOT sell them!) and when I was over in the sales building today checking on the maintenance workers one of the sales reps says when I turned around "Oh wow, you're pregnant? Looking at you from behind I never would have known!" Gee, thanks, so it's ok to openly admit you just stared at my ass? Ick.
D14 November Siggy Challenge: The feels of 3rd trimester...
I'm about to throat punch DF, he's announced that he will only help take care of the baby on weekends because he's "not getting up in the middle of the night on a work night" Either reality is going to take care of that one or we're going to be on the news lol
I'm a teaching assistant and when I was pregnant with DS, I walked into a classroom. A male colleague popped his head round the door and said "I know you're not meant to say this to woman, and I mean it in the nicest way, but you look enormous today." I just stared at him and said "uh....yeah thanks..." (Im 5'2 and weighed about 9 stone pre-pregnancy. I had a big bump and didn't put much weight on elsewhere. )
I'm currently in school so I bartend and waitress for income. A customer asked when I was due, confirming the pregnancy, then followed with 'well you look beautiful, so do you mind if I get your number?' Umm... Not happening.
I am having my sex reveal tomorrow and I created an "odds" board with old wives tales on it. One category was "mood" and the choices were happy (boy) or moody (girl). I have felt like I have kept it together pretty well and have overall been pretty happy (with very minor bouts of sadness) throughout my pregnancy, so I circled happy. When my sister saw it she raised her eyebrows and said, "I don't know if I agree with that. You are just an exaggerated version of yourself." What does that even mean? And then she turned to her girlfiend and laughed not realizing that I was pretty hurt.
I had a day filled with very difficult clients and it was really wearing on my patience. I told a coworker of mine that I was"on a rampage today." And she said "oh you're really hormonal?" Um no. But now you're added to the shit list. I hate when people blame any pregnant person's actions on hormones.
Okay...so I haven't experienced any of the dumb comments yet, but everyone's comments here does remind me of a similar asinine comment from my first pregnancy. I was standing in line at a store and a man walks up behind me and says, "Ooohhh! I know what you've been doing!" Seriously?! Why?!
My SIL is so opinionated and had absolutely no filter what-so-ever! I swear she's like the jellyfish waiting to sting you the second she gets a change over and over again. When I was only 7 weeks pregnant and hadn't announced it to the family yet I remember she just kept looking at my belly. I didn't gain too much weight but enough to show that I did gain a few lbs. everyone gains weight once in a while right? Well anyway this bleeping bleep goes oh my goodness... You gained weight are you preggers? Like who the heck says that? So what I gained weight. I said no and played it off until I announced it. Okay so tge next time I see her the first thing she says to me is "omg you're huuuuugggeee! Are you sure you're only 4 months preggers? Because you look at least 8." I wanted to slap her so bad. Honestly I didn't gain that much. I felt like asking her if she was preggers just to piss her off lol. What a bleep. Rants! I feel like people just have word vomit or something. Like it's completely uncontrollable. I can't wait till she's preggers though. Haha. Just you wait... Just you wait!
One of our relative that I took my mom to visit when we were in FL said "you're having a girl! Well, that's a good replacement for the boy you lost".
WTF, she's not a replacement, and if I can do anything to bring my son back, I would.
Oh my god. I'm sorry!
@LaxMOM44 are you living my life? I could have written that.
@leosmom25 I was told that a lot with my last one. It actually felt like a compliment to me. .... Until recently when I looked at my maternity photos...what a bunch of F'ing liars lol.
I've been lucky so far. I've had super sweet comments from coworkers and my boss. The only comments that bug me lately are "oh it's definitely a girl/boy" it just irritates the shit out of me. Friday a woman said "oh it's a girl. You're carrying really high" huh? I'm 18 weeks.....the baby just made it past my freaking pubic bone. This is hardly the time to start judging whether I'm "high or low" yet. I just said "oh...ok"

My husband told me at 12wks that I wasn't "really" pregnant yet and there is no reason for me to be so tired. Meanwhile I had gone 4 weeks of all day sickness and too nauseated to eat anything even with zofran.
I had a patient tell me she noticed my ankles were swollen (after she had asked if I was pregnant). Nope, not swollen, I just have cankles...thanks for noticing!
Good lord, sounds like some of you people are just blaming the hormones for being pissed off over nothing.
Are you being sarcastic? I hope you're being sarcastic.
Nope 100% serious. Yes carrying a child is a lot of work and can make you tired, but how does that make any comments about other people working hard and being exhausted any less true. Just because they have a penis instead of a vagina makes no difference in how their work effects their body.

Well, it looks like you're new to posting here. It might be a good idea to lurk a little before you insult a bunch of us by telling us we're hormonal and overeacting. Just a thought.
Trust me I've "lurked" around plenty. And it seems if someone disagrees with you guys everyone attacks them for having an opinion. Pretty pathetic, bash me go ahead your not bothering my life at all. Just glad to see a bunch of women who instead of building each other up and supporting them, most of the comments are bashing people.
And being upset over someone saying that had a hard day at work is stupid. If you were not pregnant you would agree with them, but since you have a child inside you, you think you're entitled to hating everyone and being bitchy, that's not how it works.
Good call @rshamos - the most pointless instigation ever. Ignored.
You're right, someone's just looking to stir crap up. I'm done feeding the troll.
Point proven. Someone post something against what you guys agree and it's "made up drama" and you guys get pissy about it. This forum is a joke. Seems like a bunch of bored housewives looking for something to do and a way to complain about their day.
So back to TP worthy comments...I don't have many great ones yet, but I'll give it a shot. I've gained relatively little at this point, but all of our friends seem focused on me having weird cravings...which I don't. I mean, I might crave collard greens or banana cream pie every now and then, but I'm not eating cake topped with sardines over here or anything. Despite this, I keep getting emails from friends of weird foods they're coming across, asking if I'd like some since I'm pregnant and am supposed to eat weird things now. So far, all of the emails are just really grossing me out...getting a taste of some of that first tri nausea I was lucky enough to avoid initially.

Actually your point isn't proven. Many of the women on here are career women along with having multiple children. For example, I work 50+ hours per week running a resort on an island in August. It's hot as hell and extremely exhausting. It has been proven that growing a human being also makes you exhausted. I also have a 2 year old at home and do all of the housework and grocery shopping. So yes, when my husband complains he's tired from working an 8 hour shift, I get really effing annoyed because on top of a 10 hour shift I have done countless other tasks as well, when I know damn right what he's been doing and it doesn't even compare to the amount of tasks I have completed ON TOP OF growing a human. Leave us alone.

It's called being an adult. Get over it. Just because your husband doesn't "meet your standards of what hard work is" doesn't mean his days any better than yours.
It's okay guys. It's probably just her "hormones".
ETA: In other TP news, whenever DH's guy friends call him to ask about the pregnancy, they ask things like, "So she's really pigging out now, huh?" "She must be eating everything in sight." "How much has she put on yet?" ...because that's all pregnant ladies do is eat and gain weight apparently. And my weight is totally everyone's business too.
It's okay guys. It's probably just her "hormones".
.
Cute. I wish I could blame all my behaviors on hormones. However I know the difference between just being a bitch and feeling like you're entitled to being a bitch because of "hormones"

So you hijack my lighthearted, fun post and be a bitch...yet you lecture us about blaming our feelings on hormones and that WE are really just bitches? K. Glad we cleared that up.

This makes so much more sense now, you're just naturally this way. Gotcha. Glad your hormones aren't affecting your life or making you tired, you really are a lucky pregnant lady and your DH is very lucky to have you.
