  • Thanks y'all. I'm anxiously awaiting a check or ultrasound to see what's happening with my cervix. The contrax are fairly regular and show up on the monitor.

  • Oh no! ((Hugs)) to you. Please keep us updated!

  • It's not related to dehydration either. Yesterday I had ketones in my urine, so I chugged water until the ketones cleared. Plus, the contrax that I've gotten when dehydrated are non painful braxton hicks. These hurt so much they woke me up. They're very painful. My lower belly, thighs, and lower back are throbbing. Luckily her heart rate is a strong 157bpm.

    image
  • The doctor just came in. My labs look good except my liver enzymes are still high, so they'll be watching that. I'm going to have an ultrasound to check my cervix. However, she thinks this is due to my fibroids. As my uterus grows, they begin to get starved of blood flow, kind of like having a heart attack. This causes severe pain and irritates the uterus, causing contractions. She told me to expect that I will be in chronic pain for the rest of the pregnancy, and that I will be put on meds and narcotics to help.

Chronic pain for the rest of my pregnancy. FML.

  • Oh god, I'm sorry to hear this! Hope the contactions stop and baby stays put... You really are due for a break!

I've basically been bedridden thanks to the HG, so it won't really be anything new.

    Jan 15  NOV siggy challenge:

  • Just had the ultrasound. My cervix is long and closed, yay! The spots where I'm having the most pain are where the fibroids are located, so they're definitely the culprit. Oh, and we know 100% it's a girl! My hubby is thrilled.

The doc was pretty clear this was going to be a permanent problem. :( The pain is intense enough to require narcotics, so we'll have to dial back before delivery so she's not born addicted. That's a sobering thought. At the same time, if I don't take the narcotics the stress from the intense pain is no good either. It's a catch-22.
