Kids and phones

It is amazing how quickly technology is changing our lives and kids kind of highlight the changes. When DS1 was a toddler he would pick up my (non-smart) phone and put it to his ear. Every toy was a phone and he would press them against his ear and say, "Ewo?" I swear I didn't talk on the phone that much!!!

Fast forward 3 years later. I have an iPhone and DS2 picks it up and always smashes it against his face. I'm not sure if he is mimicking me taking pictures or just holding the phone texting, using the internet etc. Either way, from his perspective the phone goes in your face.

Interesting social commentary from babies. Lol! Any other funny kid phone observations ?

Ha, that is funny. Whenever DS plays with the phone he tilts his head to the side and holds it between his neck and shoulder. Multitasking mommy FTW!

Mine do the same thing! They pick up my phone and say "Hello!" Cracks me up! They also treat other non-phone items like phones....computer mice, keys.... even my thermometer can be a phone! Silly buggers!

I've noticed this same phenomenon - DS1 used to use everything as a phone, but the babies never do - maybe because they make it impossible for me to talk on the phone now?

John would pick up a phone, talk into it - saying hello. He would also hold it up in front of his face and say "cheese".

Now Nick will have my kindle or my phone and when I ask him what he is doing he says- "texting Grandpa". Which is funny since my Dad has no idea how to text.
