Babys length measuring behind

Ok! So! My doctor goes off my period due date..september 4th. But at my ultrasounds they tell me im due september 11th..my first question is, who do i base my due date off of?!

And second...at my 33 week checkup (ultrasound due date) he told me my daughter was measuring at a 32 week baby length...which in his note would be a 2 week difference..but to me its only one week..and now im worried and dont know who to believe because i have two different due dates and hes confusing me...

Re: Babys length measuring behind

  • I go back wednesday, i just have no patience for that lol its been bothering me all week! Ive asked him why im being given different due dates and i just completely blanked on his response...i just dont see why he can tell me her length is a week behind all of a sudden when ive been on the smaller end the entire pregnancy (he did the belly measurement) which this was also his first time measuring me. Idk everyone keeps telling me not to worry. I just need 10,000 other opinions lol and thank you! :)
  • ummmm your doc would have told you if it changed your due date. So if you have any doubt, just ask next time you're in.

  • Lol yah she totally wins biggest a$$hole award! I forgot its acceptable to put down a concerned first time mother!

As for everyone else who doesnt have an extra large stick shoved up their behind, thank you for your advice. I appreciate it and feel much better now!

Someone had asked about what i meant by "i have no patience for that" i just meant i have no patience to wait for my doctors appointment, my due date on the other hand can take as long as it needs to come! I want a happy healthy baby, which explains why the slightest week off in length has worried me! Ive never done this before!

But again..anyone who was NICE, thank you for taking the time to make me feel better about what hes said :)

once again... you're being an idiot. If you were concerned about the size... why the eff didn't you ask your doc "hey is it normal for baby to be measuring small like that???"

eta- things to be concerned about??? oh idk if your baby is measuring in the bottom percentile. THAT is something your doctor would be keeping a closer eye on. Not just a slightly short baby. I guess I need to ask my 5'2" friends if they're okay with being 5" shorter than me.

    Thank you for my prize!

Sorry if I came off as harsh, but your post was super dramatic for no apparent reason.  The best anyone here can do for you is to say to talk to your doctor and ask your questions - and you already did that.

Also, if you've been around here AT ALL EVER you would have heard lots of discussion about how due dates are rarely changed based on these late measurements.

    So chill.

  • Wow it hadn't checked this thread in awhile and now see why it blew up.

Babies vary widely at this point and measurements can be in accurate. I will always remember my good friend coming to my classroom freaking out because she was measuring 40 at 35 weeks and baby's estimated size was like 8 pounds at the point.

Her baby was 6 pounds 10 oz.

So chill. And don't go calling @mrsdanielleM2010‌ names. Just not cool and not going to help your cause at all.

  • For the record, i didnt call anyone a name..just stated the award that was won :D And i wasnt trying to be dramatic, this is all typed out and you cant hear my voice or see my face..i apologize if i came off as "an idiot"..it seems like nothing to you guys but everyone is different. It obviously isnt too big of a deal that my babies length is off by two weeks, i was just seeing if anyone else had experienced this as well and could lend a kind word instead of making fun of how i type or how i react to information. It took us 3 years to conceive and i just want everything to be perfect.

Also, i know this is the only thread ive participated in, but honestly i just feel stupid asking questions on threads. I usually go to my doctor like your all telling me to do, but i figured such a small issue id leave him alone and ask other moms for their opinion since they have past experience. I use these apps to show the cute little fruit and size of my baby and to keep track of how many weeks i am, i really dont pay attention to the community part because i have no wisdom to lend so i assume no one wants my opinion anyways

So, wether it was mice or harsh, thank you all for your time and your opinions

And ps..im typing to you all as this is ooone looong text message..pardon my spelling and grammar errors ;)
