Didn't really sleep last night. Not due to pregsomnia, but due to excitement. Going to a Food Show this weekend. Hundreds of booths with all kinds of different New Orleans foods to taste. Gumbo, seafood, pastas, desserts.... About to get out of bed and start getting dressed NOW <:-P
I'm putting in some overtime on this rainy morning. Then I'm going home to let H do the list of chores I would like done but cannot do myself. This mama is done with scrubbing showers! :ar!
I'm losing my mind trying to pick a carseat and stroller. There are way too many options and none of them have that je ne sais quoi I'm looking for. Thought I had everything figured out, but looks like I'm back to the drawing board.
Working overnight shifts all weekend, blah. The baby was rocking and rolling in my belly much of last night, which makes me worry if this kid will ever sleep at night or if my schedule has ruined him!
TB needs to get rid of the SS "new question" type of posts. Especially when the op starts picking random posts as 'accepted answers' and it moves everything ALLL out of order.
It's a gloomy morning here so DH and I are cleaning and organizing the house. He even offered to clean the bathroom without me asking Feels good to check some things off of the to do list.
DD had an awful night because she suddenly got stuffed up and couldn't breathe through her nose. We were all up all night long. This morning I asked if anything hurt and she said her ear, so we are off to the pediatrician. She's only 21 months, and I'm not sure if her ear really hurts or if she just wanted to have an answer to my question, but better safe than sorry.
I let her play in the rain and puddles for the first time ever yesterday, and while I know that getting wet and cold doesn't make you sick, I still feel a little guilty.
I was up all night with a very sick DD She got her MMR vaccine last week and apparently it's common to have fevers about a week AFTER the vaccine is given. Her's has gotten all the way up to 103.6 and makes me a very nervous Mama!
I am as usual on the couch and trying to nest by making lists from here and asking DH to help do things around the house. I also planned an entire weeks worth of activities for DH and DS to do this next week while he is off work to help care for DS while I am on bed rest.
Yesterday was the start of back to school shopping, some grocery shopping and getting some of the fabrics for my burp cloths and receiving blankets I am making followed by a late night keeping my cousin and her newb company after her twins went to bed. Today we are going to finish grocery shopping for the month and head over to my cousins pool and keep her and the three kiddos company since the rest of our family has abandoned us for a weekend long series of concerts I'm the heat. Also need to try and find a swimsuit!
I think I'm getting the nesting bug. Just had hubby help me clean the entire house. Also, the heartburn struggle is real.
I finally gave in and told my doctor that Tums just weren't cutting it anymore and he gave me an RX for Prilosec. Seriously changed my life! I've only had to take one a day instead of the two that I'm allowed to take, but I haven't had heartburn at all...and mine was crippling before. Might be worth looking into if you haven't already!
So, DH is an ER nurse and I was having some pooping issues yesterday and asked him to check me for a hemi. Romantic, I know. He says I'm fine externally, but it looks like my ass crack is the only place with stretch marks right now.... I just stared at him. If he didn't tell me, I never would have known. What would posses a man to say that?
I have a friend from out of town coming over, so I scrubbed down my entire house this morning and it didn't bother me one bit. However, I NEED to clean my car out, so it can be ready for the new baby. I am irrationally dreading doing so, not because of the mess, but because I just really don't want to make that many trips between the house and the car.

We have to clean ours out too...I've been putting it off for weeks bc it is so hot outside! Plus, like you said those car to house trips would suck...(especially since we live in a second story apartment)
Another day of triple digit heat around here. It got up to 105 yesterday, blah. Good news(?), it's supposed to start cooling down into the 90s next week.
If DH's friend ever responds about picking up the mattress we're giving him, then we're going to start painting the nursery today! If not, it'll probably just be a wasted day of computer games & watching In The Flesh. Tomorrow is the monthly dinner with my family - Dad's making Indian.
Spent the morning just window shopping at the local outdoor mall. Totally forgot it's tax free weekend, so it was packed but still relaxing in this weird sort of way.
Heading out later tonight to the Jaguars scrimmage. Hoping to get some cheese fries while I am there!

I am currently at war with babies r us. We ordered it over a month ago to pick up in the store and the store made a mistake and marked it as layaway even though I paid in full. They promised it would be in today and when DH called they said someone picked it up. We did not pick it up and ofcourse the manager we have been dealing with is off today.
@crystalangel79 I am glad the tums worked. I have felt it in my stomach too.

Well, you just made my weekend!! DH is a Jags fan (that has lived his entire life in Indiana... :-/ ). He also loves ugly Christmas sweaters. And you just helped me find his anniversary present this year.
ETA my weekend plans since I forgot to do it before I posted in excitement: We're having an impromptu dinner and trip to the casino with ILs tonight. I'm looking forward to it. We're weenie gamblers, but we always have fun.
Tomorrow, we're going to the zoo. I cannot wait! We go the the zoo at least once a year, but haven't been since Indy added their new orangutan exhibit in May. I've been looking forward to this since I found out they were building it.
We just had Panera for lunch, yum. As long as DD takes a good nap we will be heading to the pool this afternoon. Tomorrow is our anniversary so we are going out to dinner, I can't wait for yummy food.
It's the first rainy/gloomy Saturday we've had here in awhile. My mom and I spent the morning working on some hoop art for baby's nursery. It was fun, except I now remember how I almost failed Sewing for Fun in high school. I can barely do a back-stitch!

Seriously? That's so random. I'm a Jags fan because I've grown up in Jacksonville and I still remember getting the team. Plus it's where DH and I met. Most NFL fans just make fun of us. I'm missing the first few games of the season, so I'm excited to go!
@shauna813 THAT IS AMAZING! I see what I'm getting my brother for Christmas!
@mcstrepp Yep, I'm super excited about the cheese fries. When I went to the event at the stadium last week, the concession stand near my seats did not have any. But today, I'm making sure to stop at the main one first!

@nilvero, I agree it's random. He grew up in northern IN near Ohio, so his family are all Bengal fans. He's been a Jags fan as long as they've been around because he wanted his "own" team instead of his dad's team. He went with the Jags because they were new to the NFL. He was approximately ten when this all went down. So you have to give him credit for sticking with his choice. Lol.
I'm a huge Colts fan. The Jags and Colts play the weekend after our baby is due. I've promised him if the Jags win, she can wear a Jags jersey that day. Granted, we still need to buy her Jags clothes, despite her having four Colts outfits already...
@camichael84 That's awesome! I love hearing about other Jaguars fans, especially outside of Jax. We haven't gotten any Jags clothing for the baby yet but I'm sure as it gets closer he will have plenty! The prices at the stadium are insane (25 dollars for a onesie?!) so I'm waiting for other stores to get their NFL stuff in.
I'm relishing going to all the pre season events since I won't be going to a game until at least November.

I get to work all weekend. DH almost came home with a boat but it requires more work than we're willing to put into it with everything going on. DH sprained his ankle playing softball so he's been limping everywhere. And I finally got my hospital bag completely packed.
Spending the rest of the evening researching used cars for DH. He was rear ended last weekend, and we learned his car is totaled I'm glad he's ok, and everything was the other lady's fault, but shopping for cars is not what I wanted to be doing at almost 8 months preggo! We are hoping to find one tomorrow, since we only have the rental car til Tuesday, and we work opposite work schedules so sharing a car isn't really an option.
Also, even more random, I had a very odd grocery shopping experience today. First, I was walking by the bakery and saw they had cookie samples. So I take one, duh. As I'm walking away a random lady comes up to me and tells me this grocery store has the BEST chocolate cookies and points them out to me. Ok, thanks. Then like 20 minutes later she comes up to me AGAIN, now in the juice aisle, and tells me something about her kids loving Crystal Light. I just walked away. Maybe I'm a bitch, but I like to grocery shop in peace, woman.
Then I saw someone else in the store walking around with a bottle of ranch dressing in his back pocket.
I used to be Target's Number One Fan... but since I started my baby registry there I have learned to hate them. They are the only baby-registry-having store in my home town where my sister is throwing my shower and so I am forced to use them. Many of the people who are invited to my shower are not online shoppers so I needed a registry that was in a brick-and-mortar store. MAN! Target is making it hard on me.
An airing of Target related grievances (if anyone cares to indulge me):
Their website sucks and the registry manager page constantly crashes.
They send me "item alerts" nearly every day that say they no longer sell some item online and it is not available in stores.
They won't let me spell my baby's name correctly (his name includes "í" and their system doesn't recognize it).
When you're adding items to your registry online you can't sort by "available in store" so you have to click on each item you want to add to see that it is probably "only available online" and, usually, "not in stock online".
I went to a regular Target in the East Bay to add some "available in store" items to my registry with my sister (because my local CityTarget has, like, 3 baby items) and we couldn't use two scanner guns at once because you can only be logged in on one device at a time. This was also annoying when going over registry stuff with Hubbs because we had to huddle over one computer screen.
I know this is all totally superficial crap but my brain cannot handle this Target BS anymore. I know you're generally not supposed to even talk about having a registry or getting a gift (hyperbole, duh) but is it actually poor etiquette to gripe about baby registry user interface? (Obv I wouldn't gripe to my sister or any of my guests.) Is anyone else using Target and having these problems? Or am I a technologically inept moron who can't figure this out?
Re: Weekend Randoms
But I'm excited because it's my family baby shower day! My work shower is this Thursday as well. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
