Mine:

"I don't know why you are so tired...I was running around like crazy at your age, pregnant. But then again, you do weigh about double what I did."- My lovely mother

Re: Throat-punch Worthy Comment

  • :-O I complained I was tired to my husband and he said he worked extra hours this week and I should suck it up. Excuse me but carrying your child can be exhausting!  /:)

  • We had a small meeting this week and in front of everyone my boss said "Wow, you're looking very pregnant today." Awesome. Thanks I think? This one guy I can't stand started giggling and I had to hold back the throat punch!
  • My FIL: "That is going to be one big baby."

He said that because he didn't think I would be showing yet. I'm 19 weeks and literally just started really showing this week.

  • My MIL told us when I was 8 weeks that we didn't need to go to the emergency room when I was having bleeding because "the emergency room is full of sick people and the ER doctors never know what they're doing and are always wrong......" turned out thank god I went bc I have 2 strains if bacterial vaginosis and they said if it hadn't come they are 90% sure I would have miscarried...... Needless to say I'm 21 wks 5 days so that didn't happen obvi but was astonished she thought I should just let it go

I had dinner last night with a friend of mine who is 33 weeks pregnant. The hostess at the restaurant eyed our bellies and then looked up at us and said, "Oh, I guess you'll want to be seated close to the bathroom?"

    Um, what??

So she assumed your legs were broken as a side effect of pregnancy?!  People. are. DUMB.

I guess I might have been walking a bit slowly browsing at the grocery store. A guy came up behind me and made a fart noise. When I turned around with a "what the hell" look on my face, he rolled his eyes at me.

    What the... who DOES that?
    WTF?!

I made this for the nursery. DH asked if it was supposed to be off center (it is) and said I should move it down and to the right. My mom asked if it was fish. :|image
Just needed to say that this is beautiful! I want one. :D

Edit: I just noticed your nails are also adorable in this picture.

Ha. This would not have bothered me at all, because I do use the restroom at least three times during a meal.
  • MIL: you still have a cute shape from behind.

    Uh thanks.
  • My BIL emailed me a link to an article titled "10 most disgusting/horrifying things about pregnancy."
I deleted and moved on. Thanks for the support jackass.

  • My sister, whom has two children of her own and had severe depression with both kids, saw me today and said, "Hey fatty." And continued to call me fatty and holy boobs the duration of the visit. Mind you, I am a FTM and have only gained 8 pounds. I am 21 weeks. That's really not what I want to hear when I have raging hormones.
  • One of our relative that I took my mom to visit when we were in FL said "you're having a girl! Well, that's a good replacement for the boy you lost".

WTF, she's not a replacement, and if I can do anything to bring my son back, I would.

    Nope, not over it yet.

Huh? Would you please elaborate? Is there actually an Ebola vaccine?
I posted another thread about it. Some extreme level crunchie moms (sounds like a cereal) I was hanging out with got upset that NIH is trying to develop a vaccine for Ebola. They are selfish nutjobs that think Big Pharma is out to get them personally and will use it to force vaccines on their families. I flipped out on them this morning over it and told them I was never coming back.

That is so fucked up and incredible insensitive. What the hell is wrong with people?!?

I've wanted to throat-punch my MIL for the past couple of weeks. I don't why but everything about her has been pissing me off lately.

  • Thanks ladies.

Out of the respect for my mom, it took a lot for me to hold back from punching her. I did not talk to her the entire time we were there and didn't say goodbye. Good thing she's a distant relative and I don't have to ever see her again.

I admire your way of handling this. I have never personally had a loss but I cannot imagine what would posess a person to make a comment like that. You cannot replace a lost child. Im so sorry you had to hear this.

  • @VyD81‌ I cannot believe someone would actually think that was an appropriate comment to make!

DH and I were at dinner with a buddy of his and the manager there was also pregnant. Well DH mentioned we're having twins and her first question was "are they natural?!" Because you know our reproductive history is totally her business. I told DH to stop rubbing my belly in public (that's how she knew I was pregnant in the first place).

Good grief, I've had past coworkers ask people that. Makes ya think "do you ask every pregnant woman if they were artificially inseminated for their children ?" WHO CARES?!

No kidding! And it made me wonder if our response made a difference, like if one way was better than the other to her.
