I've never started this, but after reading the UO, I felt the need to share my confession.

I've been writing a daily blog for my son since he was about a month old. Each day I describe what he's been up to and I include pictures. It is a private blog and only family and close friends can access it. I have family and friends that live a ways away and this allows them to keep up with what W is doing and to watch him grow. It's a diary of his life and I don't feel that it's self-indulgent at all.

We are moving next week and I hate paying for boxes, using them once and throwing them out. Yesterday I watched my new neighbors put all their boxes out for the recycling truck then I swiped them :P

My baby is almost 15 months old, yet I'm buying a new expensive diaper bag and I'm super excited about it. In my defense we are going to use it in Disney (as a backpack) and we are not done having kids yet.

Part 2 of the confession: I have spent days trying to figure out which color/print I want for the bag. When I finally decided I ordered from Amazon but it wasn't eligible for Prime and it's taking forever to ship. In the meantime I panicked and thought I would like another print better. So I ordered a second bag from Amazon which should arrive today and I'm just going to return whichever one I like least.

I love my baby to death and think she's gorgeous but I don't love showing people pictures of her. She's just like her father, terribly unphotogenic.

She never looks as cute in the photo as she does IRL.

I promise I'll never tell her this, I don't want her to have a complex.

I don't think private blogs for family members are self-indulgent. And if your blog is unique, funny, educational, fine. I think fashion and "lifestyle" blogs are boring and self-indulgent, particularly if the blogger is just peddling the same old Pinterest ideas we could all find ourselves, and the mommy blogs can tend that way too, if the blogger isn't funny.

Bottom line, just because the Internet gives you a platform, it doesn't make you a writer.

I'm really not referring to SadieSue here.

I have another, a similar topic was touched on yesterday in the UO.

I'm feeling very judgey toward an individual who is having multiple benefits to help him pay for his medical costs and time off from work because he broke his leg playing softball. Ummm seriously? Being that I live in a small town area and I know of 3 families that are currently putting together benefits (one for a 35 yr old with 3 kids that passed from cancer, a 30 yr old family friend who is dying of cancer and a 2 yr old with an inoperable brain tumor) it really rubs me the wrong way that they're asking for donations.

Don't get me wrong it sucks that he broke his leg and I realize people can pick their cause but this is making me really stabby. Especially considering most softball league players that I know drink excessively during the games. Yes, I'm making some assumptions.

@Boo0512‌ I totally understand. Ds2 doesn't take a very good picture either. I feel bad because ds1 takes great photos.

I definitely have a good side. I hate pictures take from my right side or straight on. I have to work the right angles to get a good pic.

I sometimes wonder if HC is really as gorgeous as I think he is or if it's mommy goggles.

I heard about the Bloom/Beiber thing on the radio, and someone was laughing at how Leonardo Dicaprio was cheering Orlando on. My first thought was "Who wouldn't be cheering on the person beating up Justin Beiber?" I can't stand Justin Beiber. I thought that petition to deport him back to Canada was hilarious.

Oh and on the subject of global warming. We got this new recycling policy to where they will only accept items that are paper/cardboard and plastics 1 and 2. For I while I used to save the other stuff and take it by the recycling place near church, but I've started throwing everything away now. Ain't nobody got time for that....

*Edit: I still recycle the other stuff, I just throw away the stuff they won't accept.*

Feel free to side-eye me, I can take it. :-) I guess I look at the blog as different than FB. On FB, the pictures just show up in my feed when I open the app. In order to see the blog, people have to go to the website and log in and that login will only go to the blog, not other media. They won't see the updates or pics if they don't want to go to the blog. No one has to call or text me if they want to see pics and their FB feed isn't clogged with info/pics about LO. It's a take it or leave it system. My family and friends are happy and I still maintain the privacy I want for my son. The general public won't see it. It's a win win for me.

I totally get the importance of recycling but I didn't recycle at all for the 3 yrs I lived in Mobile, AL because they didn't have curbside service.

Alright. I've got one. Actually, I've got 2:

#1 - I am seriously considering continuing to pump at work until my girls' 2nd birthday. I was going to go to 18 months but now that's only a few months away and they're still nursing twice (during the day) when I'm at home (about 6 times in a 24 hour period) so it looks like I'll keep going for now.

#2 - dammit. I forgot #2.

I know. It was like "if I piss you off now, I don't have to deal with you later." He's a really nice kid though. I told him it only happens when I'm tired. And he replied "and with the baby you were always tired this year." Lol. But now I wonder how many classes I taught with a wonky eye. Oh and he asked if when it happens if I can see in two different directions. lol.

@PumpkinAndThePeanut I am still pumping twice a day at work and my LO still nurses about 4-5 times per day when we are together. If you want to keep pumping, I say go for it! I feel like I am getting side-eyed at work for pumping now that LO is over 1 but I'm not going to let that influence my decision about when to stop.

My confession is kind of related to the TTC poll. I just found out a coworker is pregnant and I am super jealous. We are actively preventing and still undecided about #2 but I am jealous anyway. My coworker said she likely will only go back to work part time after this LO is born (it's her second) and then I was jealous of that too! I am one big green-eyed monster today.

Feel free to flame me for my confession because I feel bad about it myself....
I find myself caring more about gender stereotypical things than I thought I would. I have no idea why. Yesterday my friend called J's sock monkey lovie his "baby" and it felt very weird to me and I wanted to correct her (I didn't). Or we'll be looking at the bouncy balls and I'll pick out the "boy" colors for him. Or we'll go through the baby doll isle and he'll point to one and I'll say it's for girls...
I'm making an effort to change it but....

Thanks, @MamaMD‌, I'm glad I'm not the only one still pumping. I also feel like some of my co-workers are side-eyeing me... Especially because I just got promoted (despite all the pumping!) and I definitely feel like a few of them are giving me the cold shoulder a little bit. It's probably my imagination/insecurity but I can't help but feel it.

And I remembered my other FFFC, although it is pretty boring.

In June we bought a fancy (but well-used) stroller to use on our daily walks. It was still pretty expensive because it's so expensive new. It ended up being really big and hard to fold and taking up way too much space in our tiny entryway, so we bought a new City Mini instead and decided to sell the fancy one. Well, I had a couple come look at it this week and they would've bought it except it didn't seem to have a piece on the bottom to secure a toddler seat, which they needed. So they didn't buy it, but I said I'd contact customer service to see if I could get the needed piece.

The confession part - secretly I'm kind of happy they didn't buy it and now I'm planning to keep it so we have an all-terrain stroller for wintery sidewalks.

So now we have 3 double strollers...

I'll probably still contact customer service, so H stops asking if I've done it.

I say keep pumping! I would totally still be breastfeeding and pumping if it wasn't for being pregnant. I weaned her about two weeks ago because the pain was just too much. Keep it up ladies if you want to:)

I guess you're gonna have to start side-eyeing me too then. we have a blog (although I really consider it more of a photo album) for S as well that we update with pictures every couple weeks or so. Only my SIL lives in the same state as us and everyone else lives in other states. They aren't all on facebook, and sure we can email them pictures, but why not put it all in one place that they can scroll back through occasionally? We really don't put much text in either so really it's just a whole bunch of pictures.

Since this is still up here I'm just going to put a new one here.

I project my own tastes onto DS and have never given him a chicken nugget or fish shape without ketchup. I have no idea if he would eat them without it, but in my mind he wouldn't.

I bought a safety harness backpack ("leash") for DS for our vacation. Used it once and I think I like it and he didn't seem to mind it.

I also took a shower with DS tonight.
