Jenny McCarthy admitted to texting and driving on her Sirius XM radio show. Apparently her son called the police because she was texting with him in the car. She responded by throwing his phone out the window?!?
Ok sorry ladies but I text and drive. At red lights, stop signs, and when stuck in Los Angeles traffic. I'm fine with it. And yes I do it was LO in the car. As long as the car isn't in motion at the time I see no issues with it.

I am firmly against texting and driving. Even if you are just sitting still you still need to be aware of what is going on around you.
Also I found this article through The Car Seat Ladies FB page. This was the caption she had with the article:
This ain't no joke. A flippant attitude towards one of the biggest public health crises facing the US today is not what this doctor ordered. Please get this woman a crash course in risk assessment before she says another word about risks facing our kids.
Texting is one of the most extreme forms of distracted driving - as it takes your mind, eyes, and hands off task.
In 2011, 3,331 people in the US were killed in crashes involving a distracted driver and an additional 387,000 people were injured.
Wherever you stand, this is statistically one of the largest public health crises facing the US today - and is one of the leading causes of preventable death and injury to all age groups in the US.

This is so fucking irresponsible and stupid. With the baby in the car? Not even remotely okay. Ever heard of defensive driving? Just because YOUR car is not in motion doesn't mean you aren't in danger of being involved in an accident.
@jacqgomar you are putting not only your life in danger but the lives of everyone in your car and on the road with you when you text and drive. Please stop. Please.

Heaven got another angel the night you left this world behind
Heaven got a little better the day it took you away from me
Missing you tonight, see you again sometime
For now I'll close my eyes and dream of heaven tonight
I'll love you forever
I'll like you for always
Now and Forever
My baby you'll be
Also, boo Mark Wahlberg. Boo! You could do so much better!

Donnie, she's marrying Donnie, but I agree he could do SO much better!
That's right. It didn't seem right after I typed it. Still.

Yes, my husband knows, he is fine with it. He trust me, I trust myself. I'm not changing beacuse other people think it's wrong.
LOL "Other people" including police officers? Because it's illegal to use your phone in CA if it's not hands-free. It's been that way for several years now. So, you know, don't obey traffic laws and stuff with your kid in the car but that's idiotic.
What if I told you I run stop signs with my kid in the car and just shrugged it off because "other people" think it's wrong. You're a menace and you have no business behind the wheel if that's how you feel about it.
Yes, my husband knows, he is fine with it. He trust me, I trust myself. I'm not changing beacuse other people think it's wrong.
That's sound logic.
/Sarcasm
Maybe instead of changing your behavior because other people think it's wrong, change your behavior because it's illegal or because you want to set a good example for your child or because you don't want to put your child at risk of a car accident.
I really don't want to get banned today, so I will just say this
I have talked to and handled claims for countless people and families who have had loved ones die from accidents where texting and driving was involved. And yes, in several cases the person texting wasn't moving but got hit anyway because they weren't paying attention!!! I CANNOT stress this enough. It is not a matter of trusting yourself. It's not like you can force your brain to change how it operates to allow you to pay full time and attention to driving and text at the same time. You are putting your life and your child's life in danger. You are knowingly risking the safety of your child by committing an activity that is OPTIONAL. Don't be that person. I have seen the other side of this, have helped families deal with the aftermath of horrible situations because of this and I hope you seriously re-consider your position.
@jacqgomar How timely that someone JUST posted this on another forum I'm part of. Pull your head out of your ass. Your cavalier attitude about endangering so many lives is frankly disgusting.
@tgrimes1980 I really hope you are able to stay awake now while driving, it's scary stuff and takes just one second to change your life forever - I know all too well!
And @jacqgomar I'm really angry with your attitude about this. If you understood just how quickly something can happen that will change your life forever you wouldn't do it no matter what. It's not worth it. But I guess since your husband said it's ok than it's fine to put your LO, yourself, and everyone else in danger for a freaking text.
Yes, my husband knows, he is fine with it. He trust me, I trust myself. I'm not changing beacuse other people think it's wrong.
the fact that you admit doing something stupid and illegal is crazy. the fact your husband is ok with it is crazy. the fact that you aren't changing is crazy.
bottom line... you're crazy. get off your goddamn phone
Glad you and E are okay after your accident, @LJGS1010.
@TJHine you have every right to get stabby about car accidents. She needs to understand how ridiculous this attitude is when she jeopardizes the safety of herself, her baby, and anyone they could come in contact with on the road. The fact that her husband is fine with this shocks me.
@TJHine - Yes! Mara began sttn 2 weeks ago. I can finally stay awake while driving. It was pretty difficult for awhile. Working 40 min from home sucks when you haven't been sleeping. I'm sure people looked at me pretty funny when I'd be singing away in the car, trying to keep myself awake. They should really put warning stickers on cars for new moms that say sleep deprived psycho woman at the helm or something. That way everyone could have stayed back 50 yards from me. After particularly rough nights, my husband would try to get me to stay home from work. But what was I supposed to do? Call in & say I'm tired? I would have had to do that 2-3 times a week & would have been fired for sure.
I'm glad your LO is STTN now! I hope I didn't come off as being judgey before, I was being genuine when I said I hoped you were able to stay awake! I completely understand that you have to work when you are super tired sometimes, I just also know the consequences of driving long commutes while super tired. MH had an hour and 15 min commute.
