  • Aside from what others have mentioned, since I can no longer bend down and up very well, i hired a cleaner to do a deep clean of things I can't reach. It's expensive, but I need to have the house clean for LO.

  • I've been emptying the fridge so i can shuffle the contents and wash all of the shelves/drawers. not sure if it's absolutely necessary, but it makes me feel better about storing foods in there and cleaning out the crap that has been sitting around going un-used. i'm lookin at you condiment wall. also gives me the chance to go fill it up or make space for meals brought over before LO arrives.

Last weekend I (stupidly) left the fridge door open (and had turned off the alarm so it didn't beep)... the next morning the inside of the fridge was 75*. Oops. We didn't lose a TON of food (running low anyhow) and it was actually kind of nice to have an excuse to throw everything out, clean the inside, and start again (at least that's what I told myself when I started adding up the cost of the groceries ...)

This is what I'm doing today!

I looked up different fridge cleaning/organization ideas on Pinterest this morning. Found a good one:
After I eat lunch (leftovers) I plan on filling up the cooler with ice to preserve what I really need to keep around and the will pull out ALL the shelves and toss them into a bathtub with some Dawn/dish cleaner and let them soak for a bit. Then go back to the empty fridge and clean out all the walls really well. Then go rinse (or scrub if needed) the shelving in the tub and lay them out on a big towel to dry off for a few minutes. Towel dry if you don't have the patience. Then replace all the shelving and food.
I'll probably end up moving all the shelves too while I'm in there, just to keep DH on his toes, muahahaha.
