Been feeding every hour all day and every 20 minutes since 7. I'm going to die. This freaking growth spurt is kicking my ass. If I had formula in the house, I would be giving up BFing right now.

    @cko521

((hugs)) While I didn't BF DS, I had many a day where I couldn't take a shower or eat a decent bite. Sending my empathy & hoping you get some rest. Alone. :)

Tomorrow is DH's last day of leave, so tonight is my last night with help. I'm trying to imagine what it'll be like without someone to let me sleep between feedings till 2 am, and it's not a good scenario. Ugh.

It sucks but once you get on a routine it gets better ( and then a growth spurt happens lol )

Still in hosp with baby. He's been screaming his little head off. Good news is he's had plenty of dirty diapers, but I feel like even my colostrum milk isn't flowing. I could be wrong.

My room is so small compared to last year H couldn't even stay. This sucks being here alone. I'm totally ready to go home, my ass hurts from this sorry bed. Uhhhh, come on 12:00 pm tomorrow!! Maybe this belongs on mbf. Oh well. I'll be checking in later I'm sure.

I'm sorry @texasgirl81 :( That does suck. And I totally agree, those stupid freakin' hospital beds are the WORST. We already feel like crap from giving birth. Way to make us feel right at home with the suckiest bed ever.

Right?!? I just found a shit ton of pillows, I'm now going to attempt a comfy summer night camp out cot. (We commented to each other at the same time) Twinsies!!

    We have our "Irish Twins"

    DD born 8/7/2013

    DS born 7/28/14

  • @texasgirl81Twinsies forever! :D Don't tell @jensavicci though. We have BFF bracelets. :P

See y'all at the next feeding!

  • I'm so exhausted! I got to sleep from 8:30pm-11pm though and I just finished DDs first feeding. DH just went to bed and I'm trying to get her to sleep instead of doing our usual 3 hour stint in the living room. She has eaten, been changed, swaddled and I'm bouncing her in the Snug a Puppy. Fingers crossed!!

  • DH asked to switch feeding times, so that I feed at 11pm and he will do 2am, because his stomach hurts. Im exhausted but I agreed. DS is refusing to go to sleep now. I have a feeling he will stay up after 2am as well( if he sticks to his recent pattern).... and thats when I will get the "but I have to sleep so I can go to work" from DH. Tomorrow will be a very very long day.

  • I still have not been to sleep. Cluster feeding is for the birds.

Decided to try taking DS to bed with me in the guest room. He's apparently not satisfied with just being next to me instead of on my chest and is therefore waking every 1.5 hours instead of 3 hours. Ugh, dude.

Just did our 2am feeding. I got my pump all ready to go for our 5/6/7am feeding (hopefully 7), went to the bathroom, got all tucked in and realized I totally forgot to put a new pad on after taking off my old one. Fmllllll
  • Still cluster feeding from the evening. Enough already!

  • Well , I thought I got pretty lucky when DD took a bottle at 1:45 then immediately passed out. I put her down, she slept an hour then screamed like a freakazoid. I changed her & now she's drinking more milk. My fingers are crossed that she'll become severely milk drunk & pass back out so I can sleep more before DS wakes up.

  • DS won't latch! He's just screaming his head off. I hate to compare but this little one is already much different than Lili.
Milk come!!! And please latch, I hate to hear you cry like this. :(

  • LO is taking it easier on me tonight. After no sleep from 1 til 8:30 yesterday, she's letting me catch an hour plus between feedings tonight. Thank goodness. Oh, and whomever suggested letting her get into a deep sleep before putting her down is my new BFF.

  • Wide awake riding the couch with DS2 and his usual noisy, wiggly, sort of fussy time of morning. It's always that 4-6 am feeding that he won't go back to sleep. I believe it is tummy issues, mainly gas. By the time DS1 wakes around 7 am is when DS2 will decide to eat again and go back to sleep... Oh sweet slumber how I long for thee!!

  • 3am feeding, good morning! Getting my Milkies in the mail thank god, because I'm leaking like crazy. Doesn't help I started on the wrong side. 8->

  • Just finished our 3 am feeding. She *should* sleep til 7 now. But I might be up at 6ish to feed again. Back to sleep for me!!!

I secretly hate those of you that are getting more than an hour stretch of sleep at a time. :)

I'm enjoying it while it lasts, but I'm guessing it's a temporary thing...
Definitely enjoy it! I just wish I could figure out how to get my LO to sleep longer.

Ellie won last night. I brought her in bed and held her to sleep. She slept for 4 hours. This was something I vowed I would never do. I'm sad and happy at the same time

Sometimes you HAVE to get some sleep. I'll bet that was the best 4 hours of your entire life. :)

  • I slept for 2.5 hours! I'm like a new woman!

  • Welcome @katychessher :)

  • Sorry @Skeemer‌! I always text DH and let him know that I'm going to try to nap and that he doesn't have to text back so that doesn't happen to me. Of course one of my friends will inevitably text me though. I wish there was an "out of office" option on phones. I hope you get some rest soon!

  • @Skeemer‌ I totally feel your pain--and I think venting here is the right move :) My friends seem to have an uncanny ability to text or call within 30 minutes of my falling asleep. When you only get a couple hours in a row, that's devastating. Hang in there, and I hope it gets easier for you!

Okay, I'm on the other side of a nap so I'm feeling much better. I appreciate the support & for letting me complain/vent. I was aggravated that mom knew I'd be resting (the entire point of her taking DS) & she text anyway. For this nap I just told her straight up I was putting my phone on vibrate & she wouldn't be able to reach me for an hour or so. I usually keep it on in the event DS has an emergency & mom needs me. ETA: I thought I had put it on vibrate to start with this morning though. I adore my mom & it would have been the worst to gripe at her while I was exhausted. No good could have come from that. :/

@Skeemer‌ I bet if you do something nice she won't bother you as much :) i did the same thing with my nephew. I bothered my sister cause I subconsciously wanted her to appreciate that I was taking time out and watching my nephew. One day she bought me a Yankee candle and I stopped calling her :) I'm easy to please

Lol @ being easy to please. :) My mom is my best friend in the world. I think the nap & venting a little helped me a lot. We're riding to church together tonight so we'll get to spend some time together. I'm going to also see if she wants to hit the mall with me next week sometime. Thanks for the tip & the support!

  • Thanks @Dserpaa‌ :) We all crack at some point I guess.

Ok LO has not taken a good nap since 4. It's 8:30 and we had bath time and tummy time and she's eaten so she shouuuuuld sleep good tonight, she's still fighting it as I've been hding her the last 20 minutes and she gets droopy eyes then wakes herself back up , girls I'm praying for a good night!

  • Anyone having issues keeping LO from rolling to their sides while swaddled? Every time I lay her down at night she likes to roll onto her side alittle bit. It causes the DH huge anxiety but I don't know how to keep her from doing it! I have to swaddle her or she wakes herself up. She is already defiant at 1 week old :)

I don't think you can really stop it from happening. My LO will usually turn sideways while swaddled. I eventually left his arms out because it scared me.
he sleeps in the bassinet of a pack n play so the sides keep him from rolling to his stomach as well.

  • Feeding LO and hoping she sleeps after this. I'm already running on very little sleep. Anyone else having issues falling to sleep due to being anxious about when LO is going to be awake next?

Yes! I'm always torn between "if she sleeps 3 hours I want to sleep 3 hours" and "if she's going to be up in 20 minutes to continue cluster feeding why bother trying to sleep, it'll make me more tired".

  • @mary1217‌ this is exactly me. Lo is asleep right now and I'mawake. He's actually a really good sleeper. I wake up way more than him just because I'm anxious.

  • Our first night feeding begins... I'm really hoping for some decent amount of sleep tonight (longer than an hour). We started using a halo sleep sack and I think that is why dd slept a little longer than usual last night. Fingers crossed!
