Just downloaded it today after seeing your post, I have been wondering if there were any Doppler apps. I downloaded it and it works great ! im super excited to be able to hear my little girls heartbeat whenever I please
I haven't been able to get it to work properly. I can't even hear my own heartbeat, only noise, even with the phone in airplane mode. I have an older iPhone 4 so maybe that's why?

Or because phone apps cannot detect a fetus' heartbeat.
Haha, This. I don't buy that crap for one second. Some people are super gullible .
It doesn't sound all that implausible to me & I had a lot of unused iTunes credit that came with a laptop purchase. But I just worked with electronics nerds who have to come up with that kind of stuff all the time, so I am biased. I didn't really expect it to work because it was only $4 but I was curious. My doctor already takes a long time to find the heartbeat with a doppler because of the baby's wiggling and my anterior placenta.
Also, didn't a 15-year-old already invent a smartphone-powered stethoscope? This one.
Sorry but I forgot to say that you have to put the device on airplane mode, so it is safe ( checked it). The app using only the iPhone microphone, it's just amplifying the heartbeat....
I don't know what is your skepticism based on but it works great for me. Did you try it yourself?
We kept saying it was rubbish too as it never picked baby up but it did last night for the first time, heartbeat of 162 (count over 15 seconds and multiply by 4) and it sounded like a fast little train Me and ds also found our heart beats on it haha so definitely works.
Ok, I'm sorry but I have to comment on this! Placing phones close to any part of your body for an extended period of time is dangerous. My husband used to drive with his phone between his legs on the seat, he knew someone was calling before the phone rang because the radio waves made his balls tingle, a few months later he noticed a lump, we found out he had developed testicular cancer and it's likely because of his phone. Thankfully he had his nut removed and he's all clear because it was caught in the very early stages and hadn't spread. He now uses the speakerphone mode and NEVER has the phone so close to him anymore, after this neither do I and we both refuse to answer the phone while holding LO, just to minimise any risks. Now please believe I'm not trying to scare you, but I can't in good conscience just ignore what you are doing to an unborn child ontop of everything else the hospital does. Please don't use that app, just buy a Doppler, you can get them cheap online, it's just not worth the risk.
Cell phones don't cause cancer. There is no evidence to prove this. It sucks that you and your husband had to go through what you did, but blaming it in something completely unrelated doesn't do anyone any good. Remember, science is your friend.

Sorry for the late response,
yes! I downloaded it on my iPhone and I can listen to my baby's heartbeat and record it.. like a home Doppler. I highly recommend it
