Re: Just heard baby on Babyscope!!!!

  • Just downloaded it today after seeing your post, I have been wondering if there were any Doppler apps. I downloaded it and it works great ! im super excited to be able to hear my little girls heartbeat whenever I please :)

    Thanks for the tip.

  • This is an app on your phone to listen to your baby's heartbeat?

    Sorry for the late response,

yes! I downloaded it on my iPhone and I can listen to my baby's heartbeat and record it.. like a home Doppler. I highly recommend it :)

  • Hmmm....

  • I haven't been able to get it to work properly. I can't even hear my own heartbeat, only noise, even with the phone in airplane mode. I have an older iPhone 4 so maybe that's why?

Or because phone apps cannot detect a fetus' heartbeat.
Haha, This. I don't buy that crap for one second. Some people are super gullible .
  • I'm skeptical too... Good reason to be.... I'm not paying $3.99 to be fooled into thinking it's a fetus' hb. I'll pass!

It doesn't sound all that implausible to me & I had a lot of unused iTunes credit that came with a laptop purchase. But I just worked with electronics nerds who have to come up with that kind of stuff all the time, so I am biased. I didn't really expect it to work because it was only $4 but I was curious. My doctor already takes a long time to find the heartbeat with a doppler because of the baby's wiggling and my anterior placenta.

    Also, didn't a 15-year-old already invent a smartphone-powered stethoscope? This one.

Sorry but I forgot to say that you have to put the device on airplane mode, so it is safe ( checked it). The app using only the iPhone microphone, it's just amplifying the heartbeat....

I don't know what is your skepticism based on but it works great for me. Did you try it yourself?

  • We kept saying it was rubbish too as it never picked baby up but it did last night for the first time, heartbeat of 162 (count over 15 seconds and multiply by 4) and it sounded like a fast little train :) Me and ds also found our heart beats on it haha so definitely works.
