When do you plan on trying to conceive your next child? This is kind of a crazy question to ask right now, but it will be fun to see what we are all planning, how many of us change our minds over time and as a reminder that these things rarely go as planned!

I would be pregnant right now if I could. but DH says we have to move before any more babies (probably a good idea) and we can't do two in diapers again so B has to be at least 2

I would be done to start right away but I have to wait about a year to TTC for a vbac delivery (dr recommended 2 years delivery to delivery for vbac)

Hubby thinks otherwise.. He is sadly mistaken!! He doesn't help enough with this one. He can forget about having another unless he doesn it himself! LoL

I am perfectly content with giving all of my love and attention in this one.

I would love to get pregnant again in the next six months, but after talking with DH we are most likely one and done. It makes me sad, I already miss being pregnant.

Plan is to wait until DH is done his entire schooling ~ 4 years down the road. He recently says he wants to be one and done, but the plan has always been 2. I think he's just currently overwhelmed with the thought of another when we're muddling our way through taking care of a 7 week old.

My brother and I are 18 months apart so I'd really like our kids to be the same. So we plan to start trying on a trip we will take in March.

I would like DD to be just over 2when we have the next. We may start trying in 18 months or so. I do miss being pregnant, but not enough to want another now.

Is waiting a year post c-section standard? I had not heard that... my 6-week pp check up is tomorrow so I haven't really talked to the dr about it yet.

If we have a third we'll wait at least until the beginning of 2017 to try. So 2.5 years? 2u2 is insane and if there is a next time there's going to be a bigger age gap. H is the one who possibly wants one more baby while I will take some convincing.

I hadn't heard that. I got pregnant with B when DS was 10.5 months old. I think the only issue was it factored in to me not being able to vbac (there were other reasons too and this may be my OBs policy as opposed to standard practice)

I want to start trying for a third when Rem turns 2. My husband I recently tousled over this despite agreeing/compromising on 3. Don't get me started, as it is a painful subject.

I put 1-2 years. I don't want 2u2 and we would like to own a home before we try again. Of course nothing goes as planned.

I picked 1-2 years. We currently are 2u2 with a 7 week old and a 17 month old. I always thought I would want to wait 2-3 years before the next one, but at my pp appointment my dr said I really needed to wait a year to let my body heal after the last two. As soon as she said it, I wanted to be pregnant immediately! I may be crazy!
So I think we will probably wait until closer to 2 years, but I would love for it to be sooner.

We are done and DH is getting a vasectomy this year. He only wanted 2-3 (twins kinda threw that one!) I could see myself with another in like four years, but the thought of potentially conceiving twins again is enough to make me say no thank you (I love my twins, but that pregnancy was brutal). And also…I think I have come to the realization that just because I would like more babies does not mean I want more kids. I think I am more sad about the end of my childbearing years than anything.

I would love my kids to be 2-3 years apart, however DH and I are both in the mindset of if it happens sooner then that's fine. But we will be 2 and done. And I want a winter or spring baby. No way am I being 9 months pregnant while its 90+ degrees again.

We are stuck between "one and done" or going for one more in about a year. We don't have the luxury of time since I am AMA and my husband is 13 years older than I am. We have agreed to not even talk about it until LO's first birthday. Not ruling out older child adoption as well...

We're going to thaw an embie next summer. With BFing and infertility it's doubtful we'll get pregnant before then.

Note: we will thaw AN embryo. As in... one

I want number 2 in 1-2 years, DH wants number 2 in 4 years. I have a feeling an "accident" will happen around 1-2 years in which I "forget" to take my birth control properly. That is how we got this LO. If we wait 4 years I will be AMA so sorry DH you lose.

We have unexplained infertility so we will start trying as soon as I think I can tolerate sex. I don't expect it to work so we'll thaw an embryo eventually. Not sure how long we will wait to defrost, but we are lucky to have 8 waiting for us.

Eta: the thought of having another right now is totally overwhelming. If we weren't infertile I would want at least a 2 year gap between kids.

@rachel5130 - I get it. It took us a long time to get here, too. I'm only waiting the three months to start because I want a year in between birthdays for maternity leave reasons.

Plus, I'll be 33 in September. I don't feel like I have 'years' to wait around. Mid-30's really sneaks up on you.

With all of DS's screaming colic issues, DH says he is now one and done. I told him that in 3 years he wouldn't remember these few weeks, so we should try again then. I'd love to be pregnant again. We just need some time in between kids.

I wanted to try again in Dec but DH really wants to wait so we can take a trip to Europe or Asia after I graduate...so I told him to try in May/June

We had a tough time getting pregnant as well so here's to hoping it takes everyone less time than last time

I put 2-5 years but really it's just when we are in a better financial situation. So, it could be sooner if we get lucky with our jobs.

We plan on trying again when DD is 9 months old. I have three brothers and we were all 18 months apart. It was great growing up with siblings close in age. I'm 30 and want 3 and I'm hoping to be done by 35.

I want more babies but I don't think I can go through pregnancy or another long NICU stay if things go bad again next time so I think I may have to convince DH that we should adopt.

Our plan is mat leave for 1 year, work for one yearish then start trying for #2 fingers crossed to have #2 before DD's 3rd bday. Three reasons for this timing: I was off for the last 9 weeks of the pregnancy w DD so I want to make sure work knows I'm committed before having another one; Only one in diapers at a time please!; 3 years apart seems to work well for families! Plus we need a bigger house!!
