It's "you-neek" and I still absolutely love it.
It's traditional and I still absolutely love it.
I've second-guessed myself since d-day but still like it.

ETA- I also love that since his birth, I and other family members have started picking out a lot of whale items for him. He has a super soft blanket with a whale on it that is my favorite. I'm also already brainstorming his toddler room with a big cutesy whale painted on the wall in blue/gray and red accent colors.
She is named after family. My Dad's middle name is Clair (he is named after his Gpa Claris) and her middle name, Anneliese, is after my sister Anna and my Mom (middle name Ann)and my MIL (middle name Anne).
Sean Patrick is my oldest. I've loved the name Sean since forever. I always knew that'd be my son's name. Patrick is my brother in-laws name. He's been a close friend since high school.
Emma Maddison Anette is my girl. Emma is just so pretty!!! Lol Maddison is equally gorgeous and modern. Anette just sounds like a great classic European name.
Nicholas Jay Madden is my second son. Nicholas is just so strong and yet elegant. Jay was taken from Jaylen which is what DW and I thought about naming a son a looooong time ago. Madden is my other brother in-law who is also very very special to me.
Maximilian Ace put together means "the greatest unity" and I mean come on. How perfect? Plus, it also just sounds so strong and rich (robust rich not money rich)
So that's a little name history for ya
DD is Eve Juliet. Eve was on the baby name list for when we were pregnant with DS. DH fell in love with it again & gently insisted that would be DD's name.
I wasn't sold 100% BUT there was no other name I liked any better than Eve. We were also having trouble finding a middle name for her. I had always loved Julia but never considered Juliet until someone suggested it. I knew right away it was "the name" & was nervous DH wouldn't like it. When I told him he said, "It's perfect. I love it."
People seem to mostly like the name Eve although a few people have tried to call her Evie, Ava, Eva & other variations. We just correct them immediately. I feel like Eve is a classic Biblical name that you don't hear very often but it isn't so different or too trendy for our tastes.
ETA: Now that she's here, I feel like the name really suits her.
We get funny looks if we introduce DS2 as "Howard," but when we call him "Howie" (which we do 90% of the time), we get mostly positive responses. I didn't expect it to be the most applauded name on the block;)
Is Eddie short for anything?
The week of my birthday, DH suggested Pablo as a boy name. I loved it and thought of how traditional yet strong it sounds. That same week, Pope John Paul II (Juan Pablo in Spanish) was canonized.
Both names are very traditional in the Hispanic community and I love how strong they sound together

06.2014 - DS2

03.2017 - DD
Our DS is also named after family. Locke is my maiden name and Michael is my DHs middle name.
I always pronounced the french spelling ma-de-lein. Like "rein" in reindeer. I always thought it was spelled that way to sound extra French lol I love mad-a-line though!
DS2 is Crew Robert. I realize it is pretty different, but we love it and IDGAF if anyone else does. Robert is my granddaddy's name. DS1 is Rowan Jack, and I love his just as much.
Her middle name (Grace) I still love, but, it's crazy popular now. I'm not thrilled with that but I love it and it goes well so whatevs! And, she is definitely an Adlee Grace so it's perfect.
We went to the hospital with 3 names, Virginia is a family name on DHs side that I love. Indiana is a guilty pleasure name that we both loved since before I got pregnant. Sylvia was a name I brought up early on and DH vetoed.
Somewhere around 5 or 6 months he brought it up again. It took me awhile to get on board with it as I has already given up on it in my mind.
When she was born, she had this full head of black hair. It was wild and reminded me of trees and the forest. Sylvia means of the forest and woodlands. This kid has been full of life from th very beginning and i love that her name means a place teaming with life. DH actually agreed that she was Sylvia right away. Paige was a name we loved and can't use as a first name due to our last name.
FYI - Willa Ford is actually named Amanda Williford. Random factoid that I know, probably because she's yet ANOTHER Amanda. :-)
DH, his brother, his dad, and his Grandpa all have the middle name of Michael. (there are some Mikes in my family too) DH really wanted to continue the tradition. I am not a fan (seriously there are SO MANY MICHAELS) but I gave in.
As for the first name, my favorite name of all time is Nicholas, which was vetoed right away by DH because he has a lot of friends named Nick. I'm still mourning. Since he got the middle name, I wanted to pick the first, and I picked Logan, because of the cute guy in the Baby Sitters Club series. Here in Buffalo we have a juice drink called Loganberry, and that made DH hesitate, but eventually he agreed. Of course his brother and his fiancé call him Loganberry all the time, which is a little irritating (they also take pictures of signs that say Loganberry and text them to me) but other than them it's been good. Everyone likes it (at least to my face) and he definitely looks like my little Logan Burrito
LO is Micah Franklin. We picked Micah just from a list because we wanted something a little different to go with our boring last name. Franklin is the name of the building where we met in college.
But, I don't know anyone with the name Cora...however I did find out that my grandma's great aunt was named Cora, which I thought was neat (we didn't share the name until she was born). I'm glad we got to use it now since it seems to be gaining popularity.
@jensavicci I don't mind mad-a-lein! I just think people would find me pretentious for pronouncing it that way lol. I forgot to mention that we chose the traditional French spelling as a tribute to my mom who died last February. Her middle name was Michele spelled the French way and everyone always added the extra L.
We chose Ezra because we loved the shortness, I didn't want to make easy for him to have a nickname.
I still love his name, but someone pointed out to me his initials. Whenever I thought of the initials I always had my last initial in mind not E.T. alone. Now some family members have tried to call him that, I just give them bitch face. He's not an alien!
I've also gotten a lot of people saying that his name is you-neek and weird.
Uummm hello it's a biblical name, thanks.
I also thought this was about nicknames and I call her squeaker.
